My son is turning 5. We live in a very rural area, but I want to do something fun for him. Should I have his party at McDonald's or something or should I just take him and a few of his preschool friends to Chucky Cheese (which is like 2 hours away)?

Also, how do you go about putting together a party at McDonald's if that's what I were to do?|||Call Mcdonalds. It isn't that expensive. They get to play and they get their happy meals and a cake and the "party" room if they have one. I did that for my daughters 6th birthday party. They had a blast!! Chuck E Cheese seems so far away for you. It would be difficult keeping a couple of preschoolers occupied on the drive. They'd get cranky and tired. Oh and at Mcdonalds they take a picture of the birthday kid. Good Luck!!|||have the party at our house....he is 5. Have a circus theme party and serve popcorn, cotton candy, etc and play goofy games...it'll be fun and less expensive. You can "sell" hot dogs and peanuts...|||Personally, I'd probably do it at home. Then it's cheaper and you can provide foods he likes and play some party games. I don't think I'd go somewhere 2 hours away. He might not have many guests if you did that.|||I would just do McDonald's with some hats, a cake, and let the kids play. That's all they want.|||Do it at home.|||Do you have a bowling alley? It's cheap and fun (if they have bumper bowling or kid's balls.|||If you opt for the McDonald's party, there is nothing to do except contact them and set up the time. They may need to know how many children, but i dont think so, because the kids will pick their happy meal once there. The staff will bring out the cake.
A party at home could be just as fun as well.post another question for home party suggestions and games.|||I would do it at McDonald's. Chuck E Cheese always schedules like 5 parties at the same time and that is just a mess. They are horrible when it comes to kid's parties because they almost always overbook themselves. Then you only get like half a table! AHH! They did that everytime I've gone to a birthday party there. There were ppl from other parties all over me. I couldn't stand it. It was so crowded.

If the McDonald's your planning to go to is anything like the one I live near they'll have the employees play games with the kids, they also have the play area, you don't have to clean up, the cake is included, and they will bring you your food you don't have to wait in line for it.|||do it in the zoo childreen will love it. But it's kind a expensive.|||I wouldn't go to chuck E Cheese...that's an awful long way to go with 5 year olds and you would need a lot of supervision for each kid...and most parents would not be willing ot go that far.

If yo uwant to go to McD's just call them and they will take care of eveything and let you know what you need to do...and kids love McD's!
Have fun|||I'd probably do it at home too and come up with a cool theme (pirates, cowboys, etc.). We live in a rural area too and have most of our parties at home for our 6, 4, and 2-year old boys.

One thing that we did for my son on his 4th birthday, which was awesome because he loves Thomas the Tank Engine, was take him on an excursion train. You might want to check and see if there are any scenic railroads in your area. They might be able to set you up with a birthday party package. Scenic railroads are great for young boys cause they're not quite old enough yet to do a lot of hiking, biking, camping, etc. and it's a combination of active and passive activity.|||Try having it at a local park, call and make reservations.Kids can tear up your house, and atleast at a park, then they can room free everywhere.....you should have a theme, probably your kids favorite cartoon character. You should look into a moon bounce at like a party store, and try to see if your husband/someone would dress up as a clown or something! The kids would love that!!!!I don't think McDonald's will be that fun since they don't have the balls anymore ever since that law suite....so good luck!Or another really good idea would be to have a pirate party!!!!Someone could dress up as a pirate, and you guys could have a walk the plank that they could walk across(just secure a board above a little tyke pool.)Or you could play musical islands, and use hula hoops!!!!and for the music you can play ocean sounds...the kids would love it!!!!! For snacks you can have goldfish in bowls on every table, they're good for them, and fun!Good luck!!!!!!|||kids would have just as much fun at Mc Donalds. Most of them wouldn't know the difference at 5

    knotts berry farm

chucky cheese|||Mickey D's has always been a good inexpensive choice for me.|||none of the above i think sentosa is better|||Well I was thinking chuckie cheese is for kids around the ages of maybe 4 but definetly 5 and up. Raging waters do not do until like maybe 8 or so. I dont know what knots berry farm is, but park sounds fantastic for a 3 year old. But make sure to invite lots of kids to play with your child so they can have more fun.|||At hooters!!!!!!! lol but seriously..... There's nothing wrong with a birthday at home at that age. The kid is only three.

    1. my daughter is 20 month old and she's still not walking i mean she takes some 10-12 steps on her own but she's not walking perfectly.
    2. she misses her grandparenst and her friends a lot here so i try distracting her by taking her to a park or chucky cheese can u guys suggest some other place where i can take her so that she can like her stay here she really feels lonely though i try spending most of my time with her.
3 here in the US a ped said when she turns her neck its very funny how she does, never in india any doctor complained of that and even i never saw that.
4 she just weights 19 pounds for a 20 month old baby she eats a healthy diet and i have no complains on she's not eating or anything its just that she's not putting on weight.
5 n last i still breastfeed her and her ped in US is absolutely against breastfeeding she says i should stop that immediately but i'm not sure as in India her ped says you should feed till the baby is 2. i do give her whole milk too.|||If you feel comfortable breatfeeding do not stop. In the US not many mothers breast feed past 1 but it is good if you check out this website for that ok. Do what is right for your baby and look for an indian doctor that maybe more fimilar with your culutre. http://parenting.ivillage.com/tp/tpweani鈥?/a>

As far as talking her places when my daughter was young I would take her to the library and to the planetarium they have many programs for small children and shows and it is very educational look on line for where it is in your city as well as look in the library in the childrens section for listings of play groups and she can find many friends there to play with .

Hope that helps|||1) I started walking same time as my younger sister (1 year younger). i think i'm ok. for my neice, we had her pushed around the TV stand. and in a few days she really improved.
    2) form friends with children same age. work or apartment or neighborhood, there are other people. other children at the park?
    3) keep watching. what's the worst case?
    4) what percentile is she for age?
    5) she's eating solid foods and a decent diet right?|||Pediatrician who doesn't like breastfeeding is a lunatic. The World Health Organization says a minimum of two years. I nursed both our children for 4 years. Totally normal and healthy.|||check out gymboree! We love it! also this website is great...you can find all sorts of things to do with your toddler.

    www.gocitykids.com

good luck!|||As far as the breastfeeding goes it has been determined that breast milk is no more better for a child past the age of about 6 months than anything else. Because of the lack of weight gain it is obvious your child needs more solid foods and that your breastmilk is inadequate for her. She's not healthy. The neck thing could be a result of lack of nutrients in her. I very strongly suggest you return to the doctor and have them explain EVERYTHING fully to you. You're obviously not understanding. I would suggest that you stop worrying about her missing her family back in India and concentrate on getting her healthy.

Well we are both freshman. We have one class together which is PE. He has a nickname for me that he calls me all the time. It's chucky (like chucky cheese). He told me he only calls me that to get me mad. We text like every other day. One time we rated each other and he gave me an eight out of ten when i had given him a seven. We don't talk very often but we do talk like everyday.. Does he like me? What should i do?|||You didnt give enoguh info! people can be friends and talk all the time. and why does he call u chucky? and 8/10 isnt that great... im sorry but i think i he liked u he would rate a 10/10|||hi.
i think that he likes you because you guys talked like every day that is what you said in the question . i think that maybe just maybe he wants to put some place between you guys so that maybe he could figure out his feelings that are growing between you two. i don't really know but that is what i think is going on.|||Well once they give you a nickname they got the hotz for you...Just Sayin

But really he likes you and you seem like your a little in to him too. So ask him "do you like me?" and if he says "No way" just say "Yeah I thought so I was just wondering." and if he say "Well Yeah" then well you should know where to go from there

my 2 daughters have the same birth month which is december the oldest one is december 14th and the youngest is december 9th i WOULD LOVE if someone could please tell me what day should i throw a party because im doing only 1 party for both at chucky cheese!!by the way there ages are 4 yearsold and 8 months thanks~!|||My girls are 5 and 3. Their birthdays are dec 11 and 13. I have their party on the 12th. I would suggest that you do it on a week day if possible (Chuck E Chez can be hectic on the weekend ) But the 1 yr old wont relieze its their birthday so center it this year more on the 4 year old. 1yr old partys are more for us as parents then for the kids b/c they wont remember it however your 4 yr old will. What ever day is best for you and your family is the date you should choose.|||You should do it december 12 its a saturday don't do it so close to the holidays people will probably be out shopping and won't go to the party.|||Me and my sister had our parties on the same day because mine is October 30 and hers is November 9.She always hated it, but I loved it. It is okay to do it now because they are still young, but when they get older, you should do seperate parties. Anyways the party should be on the middle day so yours would be the 12th. We always did ours on my birthday. Thats why my sister was always mad. She thought I was getting a party and not her. but they were for both of us. Just make sure they both get the same amount of attention and presents or one will get jeolous.|||It doesn't really matter what day. Whatever day works best for you. The kids aren't really going to realize what day of the week it is at this point... so if a weekend works well, do so. I have seven in my household... birthdays in January, February, April, May, 2 on the same day in August, and September. We are always having a party for at least two at the same time! =) It's all about having a good time and visiting with guests. I think you could have one family party for them all the way through... and then something special for each of them as they get older. My kids get to pick one really special thing for their birthday... one of my daughters picked dinner and a movie with just me (she was turning 7) and my older one who is about to turn 9 wants to have dinner and a pedicure with me. It's really important for the bonding time as they get older... so don't sweat the small stuff like what day to have the party at this point in time. It will all fall into place! :)|||I would do is closer to the december 14th. That daughter is older, so she will be more aware that it is her birthday and what day her birthday is. The one turning 1 won't know the difference if you have her birthday a week late. I don't know that... I might consider doing them separately though. Like the older one there, and then just a gathering at home for the little one, as that may be overwhelming for her. My children are only 1 year 4 days apart (april 29 and may 3) but we have so far kept their birthdays on their own day. That way they each get to celebrate a party. As they get older (they are now 3 and 2, so next bdays will be 4 and 3) we will let them decide, seeing as they are only one year apart they may have a lot of the same friends.

But I am a public librarian who sees SAHDs occassionally. I think it's great. I would hope, if I were a SAHM, that I would be be kind, friendly, and inclusive to SAHDs.|||I have no problem with them; what, are they going to attack? of course not. Now, if there was attraction or something, then I'd at least think the SAHD would re-think his marriage. I want to take my 3 year old son out for a few hours...we only have about $20 to spend....should we go watch a movie, go to chucky cheese, go to a park and eat ice cream....what are some good ideas? I'm dropping my other 2 kids off but only have 2-3 hours to go out.
Thanks!|||Take him to the park, if the weather is nice, maybe take two squirt guns, and have a water fight. If you don't like the guns, than any kind of water squirter would work. Ice Cream would be nice, but how about a mini picnic? Take his favorite things to eat. Playing at the park and letting him run and you chase him, or just let him have a ball on the swings and slide, etc.
I have a 3 year old grandson and he would love all of this.
At that age, going to the park is like heaven to them.

~faith|||park & ice cream sounds great. 3 year olds love to run. All he wants is time with you, and to move! The park is perfect for this age!|||nothing food related|||Go to a park and eat ice cream. Don't waste your time and money on something that doesn't create interaction between and your son. A movie is a terrible idea. Even if he enjoys it, it has nothing to do with you. Chuckie Cheese isn't much better, but at least there is a chance for interaction. And, interaction is what he'll remember and cherish.|||Why can't you just take him to the park and save your money? Children don't know about how much things cost. If you get him in a habit of doing things that cost money he will want to do those things more often.

Most kids are happy just being able to go outside and play hard.|||What about the zoo. My son loved that at age 3.|||go to a petting zoo, and let the child touch the animals,
    or
go to a regular zoo (and hold onto your child) and takl about what you see. .|||A rich child often sits in a poor mothers lap
why not explore a local park or library?
Maybe go to the local produce store and learn colors by picking out fruits and vegetables?
why not pack a picnic lunch and relax together in a nice shady spot...
the possibilities are endless, there is no need to spend a dime when all you want is quality time. go for activities that give you and your child "togetherness time" time without all the hustle and bustle of distracting games and treats. My favorite thing to do with my son is to makie a giant mess in the kitchen by having him "help" me cook treats, he is two and I let him stir the batter, or pour in the water, that sort of thing. happy "holiday"|||My 4 year old grandson loves to help pack a picnic lunch and go to the park and have a picnic and play on all the stuff.|||Yes. Go to the park. If ice cream is what he likes go have some with him. Go play on the slide and swing and have a blast with him. He will remember his special time with you.|||you should go to park and Ice cream.|||I would say park and ice cream, your child gets out to play and has a yummy treat to top it all off!|||Well, it really depends on personal preference. I think the park sounds like a fun idea. Little kids tend to like the park. Maybe try a petting zoo type thing, unless he is too little. Or you could go to an aquarium to see all the fishys. Have Fun!!!|||Ugh! I can't stand Chucky Cheese!!!!! I would much rather go run around the park.

What my family did is get family passes to the local zoo and children's museum. They run for a year and usually after your second visit with the family pass it has already paid for itself... so you pretty much go for free the rest of the year. It comes in handy at the end of the month when you have paid all your bills and don't have much $$$ for entertainment.|||Take him to the park on the playground or just run around with him a little bit. Little boys love stuff like that. It also wears them out so that they'll sleep at night. I wouldn't give him too much ice cream. It's not the healthiest stuff in the world, but if you want to, it's your child. Make sure whatever he does gives him exercise.|||I think that the best thing that you could do for your son is to just play with him and let him laugh and run. They are very simple at that age. If you just took him out in the back yard or a park. Let him throw a ball, teach him to play catch and let him know emotionally that he is secure and special. But play WITH him, don't just be a watcher. Don't just take him to a playground and let him run around.Save that for a less special time when you don't have the time or energy to give him.

And of course, ice cream as the culmination of the event is a great ending! LOL and enjoy your son. They grow up too fast.|||He would love the park and that is free!|||Why not ask him which place and what activity he prefers out of those choices. Chucky Cheese is a nightmare, but if that's what'll make him happy, then go there. Same for the park and ice cream. Giving him a chance to pick what he really wants to do is what he'll cherish.|||You could go to Chuckie Cheese and spend some money then go to a park or get ice cream. Either would be fun.|||Go buy a couple of happy meals and take him to the park, that's where you will get the most quality time with him that he will remember.|||Just 20 bucks, huh? Well, you could always sell him to a Chinaman. You'd probably make a few grand off of it.

Try to find one with a petting zoo, she'll really like that, and bring plenty of sunscreen, its hotter than **** outside.|||thats a great idea...in my opinion! my son is gonna go to the zoo for his first time next month..he will be 6 months. and he loves animals and watches them and smiles and talks to them!|||Sounds like a good idea, your boyfriend just wants to play games and eat pizza at chucky cheese is all.|||It is not a stupid idea. Why would he even say that. She will have fun. • I have looked at examples and so far the only thing that I have found that I had left out of my notes was that the husband cannot bring girlfriends, concubines or the new wife (or males filling those roles, if that is the case) to any events for the children, i.e., weddings, graduation, school plays, sporting events, recitals, demonstrations, plays, etc. There will be no birthday celebrations except those held at either his home or hers (e.g., no Chucky Cheese's) unless both parties consent and neither party will take the chikdren out of town on their birthdays.|||if you haven't already...make sure you work out funding for education as well as spell out what types of educational facilities they can attend (Universities, Community Colleges, Trade Schools, etc.), cars and who will pay what when the child reaches driving age, payment for graduation extras like invites, cap/gown, etc. (they really add up!!), as well as all the items that are normal when there are children in a marriage: medical, dental, vision, religion, insurance, clothing allowance, etc.

Good luck!|||Well, it's your life and your decision, but I'm not sure that's a very good idea, for the kids' sake. Kids don't understand legalities of things like that and all they know is that this person who their dad loves and is a huge part of their life never comes to support them in their activities. I think it sends a mixed message and will only make the children even more confused and frustrated than they already are.

I know it's hard to imagine being civil to your new husband's significant other, but I think that if all the adults in a child's life can be in the same room together and actually do so without fighting, that is in the best interest of the kids. Think about how you would feel and how your new future husband (who your kids loved very much and vice versa) would feel if he could NEVER attend these special things just because of some divorce agreement from years before. I think it's just asking for trouble.|||My wish....that the dog had gone with her

Her wish...that would never be allowed to be happy again|||Perhaps you could go as far as girlfriends or concubines, but I don't think you can leave out his spouse should he choose to re-marry.

Furthermore, as long as something is not life threatening, then you really can't spell out those sorts of things. I doubt a court would allow a divorce decree that indicated dad can't take his kids to Chuck E Cheese or Disneyworld for their birthday.

You may not agree with his choices. I certainly don't agree with the choices made by my unfaithful ex-wife. But I wouldn't keep her from seeing her boyfriend or taking my daughter to Disneyworld, etc.

The other things, such as no overnight stays of a woman he's not married to, sure. Restricting who he can take to the school play, no cool, no matter how much it hurts you.

It's about the children, remember. So if it hurts you, you have to be the bigger person and get over it. It's better to have dad there at the play, even with his girlfriend or wife, than it is to have dad absent in most cases.|||holidays......

I no. ur gonna say "ur too young." "Go to Chucky Cheese or something." But kids theese days r bf and gf at this age. Like on the Suite life of Zach and cody. They were like 12 or 13 and they went on dates. Im starting middle school and will be 12 soon. I no most of u r gonna say "Let ur mom come." well wat im trying to ask is, if my mom is coming, wat should i do to make it more of a date but nothing like making out or anything? my bf is shy around parents and i dont want my mom to be all over us. Is there any way that it can still kinda feel like a date but nothing too much?!?!? Please help me. Thank you for ur help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O and wat should i wear? pink spagetti strap top with pink short skirt? or aqua spagetti strap top and aqua short skirt?|||You are a little young, but I remember being 11 and 12 and I had a boyfriend too. We only went out for like 2 weeks though because he was too immature for me...but that's not the point hehe. Let your mom come and ask if she can sit in the row either in front or behind you. If she insists on behind you so she can watch what is happening say okay, that will show her you are responsible and you were not even thinking on kissing or anything, which you shouldn't anyway. Love is complicated and kids are lucky, so just don't kiss him hehe especially infront of your mom. I think it is better your mom is going because you are both quite young and someone could like steal you haha. As for what to wear, try jeans and a tee-shirt, it is a movie date don't try to dress up. And you shouldn't have to wear a mini skirt around a boy, especially at your age. For the people that think Zack and Cody is for little kids, well they are just being mean and are trying to act all mature. I like it and I am 15, but I am like the essence of mature. Most of the guys are too immature for me at school! Anyways, hope you have fun on your date!|||freak|||u still watch the suitew life of zack and cody you do need too go to chukey cheese

well you can still make it feel like a date if you get your mom to just stay behind you, a distance away|||tell your mom you will feel like a complete dork if shes around your bf. tell her how you arent going to do anything bad, and how you no better. tell her how he's very well mannered ro something. idk|||ok, your not too youung. lol, im 13, and i was dating at yur age. um, i suggest doing what me and my bf do when his parents came to the movies w/ us. they sat wayy on the other side of the theatre as us. and if you talk to your mom, and tell her that michael gets nervous around parents, then maybe she'll stay away, and try not to be all over you guyz.

i say aqua outfit!!|||When you get to high school, i bet your parents would let you go on a date, just you and your boyfriend by yourselfs.|||your 11... your mom should come jeeze... she's gonna be driving you, giving you money for your ticket and snacks, and your ride home. What do you PLAN on doing with your bf whos prob 11 or 12?|||all that I can tell you is that if I were your mother, you would not be dating, not wearing the clothes you are speaking of. If you are still watching The Suite life, you are in no way ready to date... trust me, eleven is waaaayyyyy to young, just enjoy being a kid.|||you should be glad your moms coming, and you really dont know anything about dating so why date? im sure it wont be like another month or so before you break up anyway. kids your age cant even hold on to something long enough, and that stupid kid show is not reality. most kids who date think they are more mature than they really are. so you should be greatful your mother is coming with you, and what your wearing already sound slutty, wear jeans and a shirt. and to make it more like a date all you can do is hold hands. thats all you should do anyways|||dammm ur mom wants 2 come... that sucks, next time tell her to drop u off at the movies bc some of ur friends r goin n dont say that your goin on a date with your boyfriend. im 14 so yea i understand ur question more then older ppl probably. as far as ur mom being there, i wouldnt go any farther then holding hands or putting your arm around each other, sorry. but if ur mom leaves the movies 2 go 2 the bathroom or get some popcorn n candy or whatever, thens your chance to either kiss him or make out with him. as for your clothes, i'd wear the pink spaghetti strap, but make sure its really tight on ur body with tight jeans thatll look good, good luck|||lmfao lol a short shirt skirt?WTF go to chucky cheese, because you wont be doing anything dirty on this date. At least at chucky cheese you get balls in your face LOL kids these days...|||oh jesus maggie. the suite life of zach and cody, is sweet as hell man

and you are not too young, i was dating at your age. i'd suggest, to make it sorta like a date without the whole making out in the theater, which to me is trashy anyway, hold his hand, ask him to buy a snack, be happy, and have fun. although you are not too young to date, you are to young to be sticking your tounge down anyones throat, so, im glad your mom is tagging along. Mom knows best! and aqua, is better than pink. just cause pink is not my favorite color :)|||You are too young. Period. In everyone's eyes (except your own) you are a baby. If you base your life off of TV shows you are going to have a crappy life. Most kids your age are NOT dating, stop deluding yourself.

If your Mom allows you to go on an outing with a boy then of course she is going to go with you. You can't go by yourselves, your not old enough to be out by yourselves.

Just being out together is a date. Enjoy the movie, share pop corn and hold hands. And try not to dress like a wh*re which is what you were describing as possible outfits to wear. You would be surprised how much better people look in a pair well fitting jeans than a short skirt.|||I had my first boyfriend at 11. We had so much fun together and went out a lot. When we went to the movies, my parents used to drop us off and pick us up after. I had a cell phone so we were always in connection. If you don't have a cell phone, then you should ask your parents to borrow one of theirs and call after the movie. If they still don't let you go, ask them what they WOULD let you guys do together by yourselves. If you and your parents can work something else out, call your bf and see if you can change the plan. My 1st date with my boyfriend was like this: After school, we walked together to get and ice cream and then went to the park to feed the ducks. I thought it was a better first date than going to the movies because we got to talk and get to know each other. It was really fun.

And I think everyone who answered and said you are too young should not be talking. You like who you like and you date who you want and it's your decision, not theirs.

    Good Luck!

at what age do you take a newborn baby out? my sister inlaw, takes her three week old baby to chucky cheese, to see her co workers and to the mall....he has not even had his first shots yet....i dont think it is safe for the baby. any thoughts at what age or time a new born should be taken out into public?|||i think you should avoid public places when theyre only a couple weeks old.. but stroller walk, or see grandparents it okay.. Yeah, i agree with you it's not smart for her to be taking him out everywhere..|||Chances are he HAS had his first shots since they give some shots at birth.

I suppose I should ask: are you a mom?

While that's not something I would do, I understand your sister-in-law! She's proud of her baby and trying to keep up with her busy life.

Don't judge her so negatively though.|||I took my 4 month old out to a restaurant on the way home from the hospital. I also flew to Missouri with him when he was 2 weeks old. So I think personally people like y'all are overprotective. Sorry. Good Luck!|||Nothing, and I mean nothing is germier than a hospital. The next germiest place is a doctors office -particularly pediatricians. And people take babies there all the time.

I have always taken my son out. Even once they have their "first shots" that doesn't really protect them.|||Your baby isn't touching people, except you, at that age, as long as they aren't (the public) breathing on her, she is fine. My kids never got sick at that age, from going out in public. (unless you are talking about passing your baby from person to person, then the risk is higher. But to the store, you gotta relax a bit.)|||it depends on the person. I look at it this way you have to take them outside to leave the hospital. To be honest i took my seven month daughter out twice when she was only a week old. To sea world and the zoo. Her grandparents and great grandparents where in. To be honest it had no ill effects on her at all , she selpt in her car/stroller and was perfect, to be honest it hurt me more. I had 3 degree tear and was very sore after thouse two trips. After that she didnt go out till her two week visit and then two month. We would go for walks after her one month mark but thats just me. As long as you take the right precaution everything should be fine.|||Its always best to wait until the baby has some shots as they are immunization shots to protect the child.

Sometimes we have to bite our lip and stay out of other's business because it will only cause conflict. Keep your thoughts to yourself so you can enjoy your new baby nephew.|||No actually...you're right he most likely HAS NOT had his shots...my son started his first immunizations at 2 months..

The only "shots" they get at birth is the hepatitis and they've even stopped doing that.

In my opinion IT IS NEVER safe to take ANY child to Chuck E. Cheese as it's a breeding ground for disease...

I took my son out a few times in his first month...but no one was allowed to touch him and I almost always had him in the closed stroller (because he was usually sleeping).

It's really at the mothers discression as to when the baby meets the world...

As long as she's reasonably careful and is not passing baby off from person to person ...baby should be fine.

Make sure that she carries Purrell with her and never lets anyone handle the baby without washing their hands and using Purrell first...that will greatly minimize the exposure at least to contact borne bacteria and viruses.|||Newborns still have the immunities they received from their moms in utero, even more so if they are being nursed. It's actually the new mother that is most at risk of exposure to disease, since she's worn down from all the midnight feedings, etc. She needs to be careful not to push herself too hard.
I took my twins to church when they were one week old.|||That is honestly a personal decision. I would be careful taking a newborn baby where there are a lot of germs. Just think how easy it is for someone to come up and "germify" your baby! Every mom feels differently about it just be cautious and use your own judgement. I am a mother to a 4 1/2 year old 16 month old and i'm currently pregnant. I honestly prefer to wait until the immune system is built up a bit more and then I only take them where there is healthy family or invite them to my home. I let my husband do the grocery shopping and things to that effect.|||he should of had some shots by now
did he really not have any shots???
my aunt a peditrician recommends waiting tilll 4 weeks old to be around people best of luck|||My first was visiting the day she came home and grocery shopping the next day. My second I stayed in a few days but that was only because I was tired not because its bad for the baby. The baby just left the most liekly place a person is to BECOME sick-the hjospital!|||We took both of our kids out right from the beginning. Our first trip to Wal-Mart was on the way home from the hospital to get prescriptions from the pharmacy. Newborns have a lot of protection from their mom's passed-on immune system for the first few months.|||You get antibodies by coming in contact with the germs. Your body realises they are foreign and makes antibodies to attack them.

You can't be immunised against all germs. Studies have shown that making your children super clean can have negative side effects as once they do come into contact with the germs their body has no idea how to react to it.

You have to find a happy medium between letting them come in contact with things and keeping them clean. At that age baby wouldn't be touching much only mom.

Enjoy your new nephew|||Technically the baby went "out" the day he/she left the hospital. However, if you are worried talk to your pediatrician about specific outing dates like when the high levels are for RSV, flu, and viruses of that nature. Your doctor will give you the best advise.
Good luck.|||Everyone debates this one differently. I can understand her wanting to show off the new one to her co-workers. I have seen little ones as young as 3 days old in the stores. Right or wrong, it is an individuals choice, and not for others to hold her judgment.
The baby does get all of the mothers immunities ( to a certain degree). I am sure baby will be fine, and once he gets his shots, he will be cranky and she may not want to go with him. He is perfectly safe. Mine was 2 months preemie, and at 2 months old, was around a young girl with the chicken pox. She is 14 now, and drives me nuts!
Remember, it's not your baby, and you will just get hard feelings started by making an issue of this. It is one of those topics just better left alone.|||Since your sister inlaw is probably still breastfeeding, she's constantly transferring her own resistance to any diseases the baby may come in contact with through her breast milk, which provides antibodies along with all the other things a baby needs to grow. Chances are that if the baby "catches" anything, the antibodies provided by the breast milk will be sufficient to ward off any serious consequences, even things that he will need a shot for later. The baby will only be able to get seriously sick from something that the mother isn't resistant to, and due to constant contact between the baby and mother, even if the baby does get sick, the mother may still be able to develop a new resistance and pass it on.

I do agree, however, that it's not smart to bring a newborn to bacteria-infected places like chuckie cheese- but if he's not touching surfaces, it's not devastating.|||I took my son out of the house to wal-mart when he was 3days old. I did have this older lady say my god he is too young to be here. But I did not agree one bit. He is almost 2 now and has been healthy from day one. My trip to the store did not effect him at all ;) I'm now pregnant w/ my second and will take her to the store w/ me as soon as she is born. Its all about personal choice.

Have fun|||For a 3yr old I would stick to chucky cheese|||A water recreation park would be kind of difficult to keep your eye on all the kids so I would scratch that. I would go witgh Chucky Cheese or even McDonalds. The employees at McDonalds go out of their way to make sure the kids have a good time. They plan games and activities for the kids. I should know, I used to work at a McDonalds. Have fun.|||hi boy/girl well theme party's are always nice my little couzin had a car party and it look like a f1 circuit and everyhing was cars all over cake etc..|||I think a park with water recreation. I don't live America I don't know much about the rest of the places you asked about|||how many people are you planning on inviting?

My daughter is also turning three, and we're having 3 people over for a small butterfly party. 3 year olds are hard enough to manage without all the stimulus and excitement of the places you've listed above. Being responsible for all of them in those open spaces - I couldn't do it.

Generally the rule of thumb for a manageable bday is the number of children should match the age. and then you do something at home. It's actually more special I think, and if it's fewer kids you can actually put more effort into it. IF you have a son, a theme party with a theme cake, cookies, games all work really well. For my daughter, I'm making butterfly wings for all her guests (two are boys actually), butterfly cupcakes - we'll have a chrysalis search and a butterfly story time.|||I had my three year old's birthday at chuckie cheese she loved it. drink tons of water which i already do. like 8 bottles a day.|||Do not drink bleach of any amount! Drinking vinegar doesn't help either, and neither do those 'detox' kits. Drink lots of water, tea, coffee, and cranberry or grape juice, this will dilute your urine so the metabolites of the marijuana are harder to detect. It's probably too late to burn it out of your fat cells unless you have a very high metabolism and exercise a LOT.

Keep drinking lots of water and fluids up until your test (should they test). About three days before your test take a creatine supplement, and the morning of the test take a B-complex vitamin and four aspirin. The creatine and the B vitamins help to cover the fact that your urine is diluted by making it yellow and and fixing the pH. Aspirin have been shown to mess up urine tests. Don't ever give your first piss of the day for a urine test, and when you're giving the sample catch the piss midstream. Since you don't smoke often you should pass with flying colors.

And don't try to tamper with the test, that doesn't work.|||Nothing you can do.
    Only TIME works.
A 1x use of THC can stay in your system up to 9 days.
Whether it will or not depends on how good your liver is, and how fast it gets rid of toxins.
And before you ask, NOTHING you put in your mouth affects how the liver works at all -- except of course, other toxins, which slows it down.
So if you regularly drink, drug or whatever, your liver is always busy sorting stuff out, which means the THC will last longer.
Meaning possibly the full 9 days... in which case, SCREWED DUDE!|||Since Chucky Cheese is not a high security job where safe operation of heavy equipment is required, I doubt if a drug test is needed. I could be wrong, but remember not to use drugs since they can get a hair sample from an applicant that can tell your past use of ALL narcotics that goes back a couple of years.|||Cranberry juice, vinegar, a very small amount of bleach.... my baby will be 1yr old in about 3 weeks and need some ideas, thanks, oh and not chucky cheese either..|||I would say stay at home. A first birthday does not need to be a huge party. We had ours at home, and got the 1st birthday themed stuff from the party store. Had food, easy stuff everyone will like, veggie tray, fruit, chip/pretzels etc. Then of course you need to get/make a cake for your little one to dig into (I prefer to make the cake, makes it more special, plus on thing my mom always did was bake any kind of cake we wanted and I and sticking with that with my kids.)|||Take some of the toys he or she likes and make a themed birthday party at your own house. Make a cake, and get a pinata. Set some games up that the whole group will enjoy.
Be creative|||He's to young to really appreciate to much, so don't go nuts. I'd just stick to family.|||are you asking about a birthday party? If you are then I would have to say that when my son was 1 he still took 2 naps a day and got very cranky at certain times of the day. Your best thing to do is buy them their own little b-day cake and a larger one and invite close family and friends. Don't go all out your baby wont remember it any way and he will have a great time with just family and a few of the close people he knows. By the way take lots of pics!!!|||Make it very small, family, a few friends...they don't understand, and certainly don't remember...save the fan fair for when they are older!!!|||Take him somewhere like the park and play with him as long as he is having fun. Then look in his eyes and say I love you so very much. Go home and put him down for a nap. When he awakens, feed him his favorite food. When he's done give him a big hug and tell him you love him again. Put aside your days chores and just be with your son. Do this for the rest of his birthdays and he'll have the greatest memories of his loving Mother/Father.
Of course the nap thing may not go over well when he's sixteen :)|||Do something fun at home with family and friends. If the weather is nice where you are have a BBQ and some outside games and drinks and have the cake and stuff for the baby.|||The first birthday party is basically a party for you. The baby is not going to really know what is going on. So dont spend a lot of money. For my son we just did a family and close friends cookout. He still had a lot of fun.

My son is turning 3 years old in December, and I need some ideas for the theme. Since it's a winter party, it's hard to think of anywhere, and it can't be at my house, b/c we're moving, and not Chucky Cheese. He loves Curious George, but I want it creative.|||Can you have it at a relative/friend's house? If not, that's kinda tough. Are you moving locally? If so, maybe he can wait until you guys move into your new place. I usually get fun theme ideas for kids bdays at party stores. Visit this site:

You shouldn't get mad, because it's just an opinion and opinions do not count. Secondly, drugs and alchol aren't the answer to your problem. • What are some things that you wish you had included in your divorce agreement but didn't?
I have looked at examples and so far the only thing that I have found that I had left out of my notes was that the husband cannot bring girlfriends, concubines or the new wife (or males filling those roles, if that is the case) to any events for the children, i.e., weddings, graduation, school plays, sporting events, recitals, demonstrations, plays, etc. There will be no birthday celebrations except those held at either his home or hers (e.g., no Chucky Cheese's) unless both parties consent and neither party will take the children out of town on their birthdays.|||The men answering this are soooo funny. They don't know you and your circumstances so ignore them. You are right. As a woman, I have seen countless destroyed weddings over this very issue. Besides, that wasn't the question, was it? You wanted to know what you should include and simply stated that you had found this in another agreement. Are these guys defensive or wh?.
Anyway, you should include something about taking the kids out of the country. That is really an issue in this international world.
Also, a parent can agree to stand on his head when he picks up the kids if that is what you agree to without the court and simply file. These guys above are funny!|||You have serious control issues. Meds and a trip to the shrink can help.

If your daughter is old enough to get married, then why she needs a parenting plan? You are taking your grudge way too far, Your daughter can invite whomever she wants to her wedding.

Jeez, lady, you give me the creeps|||Judging from your attitude, I can see why hubby ditched your ***.|||You don't legally have that right. Didn't you all go to mediation? The mediator would've explained the whole boyfriend/girlfriend of the spouse thing works. They ARE allowed to be there unless they are abusive or some kind of criminal. Sucks...but you cannot supersede the laws of the land.|||+1 to what blunt said above.

Even if your husband is a liar and a cheat, let your adult child decide if he/she wants dad in his/her life.

    Good gravy.

Perhaps you could go as far as girlfriends or concubines, but I don't think you can leave out his spouse should he choose to re-marry.

It's better to have dad there at the play, even with his girlfriend or wife, than it is to have dad absent in most cases.|||Very good. I would hope the same holds for you. What happens when you meet someone?
Are you really a person who does not need love, companionship or dare I say sex? That is of course if the restrictions work both ways.
That would be the only reason for that crap.

Oh yea, thats for him, not for you.

I think I can see why he bailed out.

My son will be turning 2 next month and I need to figure out something soon to have for entertainment and get the invitations out. I don't want to do Chucky Cheese because it's so far away that I am afraid parents won't bring thier kids. I don't want to have just a cook out because that is so boring - I mean it's his BIRTHDAY. I want to CELEBRATE and I want the kids to have fun. However, there is so little that 2 yr olds can do... I have thought of a pony but I don't know if they are too little for that too? Please help! I want this to be different, fun and memorable. Thank you in advance for your advice!|||Do you have any place like a Gymboree or any kid's gym near you? Because that is hands down the best place to do a two year old's birthday party.

If you have to/want to do it at home.... rent a bouncy house/moonwalk thing - the kids will LOVE that, and it will provide hours of entertainment. I had someone dressed up as Elmo come for my son's birthday party, and I'll warn you, it scared the crap out of all the kids except my son. Another idea is a clown that does balloons/face painting (although again, beware that most kids are petrified of these things at age 2). I think they're too young for ponies, but a friend of mine had a travelling petting zoo with small animals (like bunnies and stuff) come to her party and that was a huge hit. Another friend had a lady come that did a puppet show, that was a big hit.

Hope this helps!!!|||Rent an air bouncer, kids LOVE those and because it's at your house they can bounce in it all day long for as long as they want and not have worry about some smelly carney telling them time is up!|||Get a Pinata! Kids and adults love them! Put some lottery tickets in there for the adults!
    Plan around nap time!
Make all finger foods, kids love finger foods. (PB&J, strawberries and bananas wrapped in flat bread and cut into sections - so yummy!)
Have a family member dress up as a clown (lots of kids are scared of them. If you have someone do it for you it will save $$) OR hire one that does balloon animals.
Get all the kids & adults fun hats to wear.
Fill a small pool with like 100 mini rubber duckies for them to get in andplay with!
Use little things to make it special - fun straws, balloons everywhere... little stuff is what the kids get all geeked up about!

But remember how your child is, normally children at 2 are very unpredictable. So be patient!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!|||why not have a theme party? although your child will probably not remember the party, it would make for great picture for him to see later in life. You could do a sports theme or a cowboy theme or even a popular character theme like Dora the Explorer or Blues Clues. It would be great if your husband or other family member could find a costume to dress up as one of these characters and show up at the party. If you told the other parents you were going to have one of the characters from sesame street or other popular kids character there, they would be excited to bring their kids and the kids would LOVE it!. Like I said, it would make for great pictures the day of the party to show off later, too.|||hmm...
you could go to a local park or a farm/petting zoo where they have all different animals and no clean up. Or an aquairum or if your short on cash just have like a cook-out at someone's house and bring lots of toys!|||I say do the big stuff for when they're older and tehy can remember it. I know some kids are afraid of animated charachters, and clowns but, maybe blue from blues clues, sesame st charachter. Do a family thing with a twist on it. Good luck|||if its warn hook sprinklers up and let them run and get wet. kids love to be wet, make sure they have plenty of warm towels and sunblock. I did this and the kids screamed with delight all day. Have little sandwiches, and chicken fingers. For a snack do cherios and gold fish crackers,|||Take them to the park and let them run around! I mean there two! It doesn't really matter! Of course bring a cake! Maybe bring a few games, but you don't need anything fancy.|||how about mcdonalds kids love that place plus the outdoor activities are geared for children your sons age and it would in a confined area where you wouldn't have to worry about the kids getting lost. the kids will have a ball.

A friend is turning 30 and he'd like to do something fun for his 30th Birthday party. It's not until the 21st of Sept, but time is running short and I wanted to see if you guys had any good ideas for a party?

Likely around 25-35 so people, too big to hold in an apartment.

A couple thoughts have been to do it at Chucky Cheese just for nostalgia's sake, or maybe do something at a casino with food and gaming for everyone.

    Any and all ideas welcome!

You baby may not remember but family and friends will.|||The baby's not going to expect a hooplah. But a kid like enviroment will have the kids be happy and so will your baby. I think the only problem with chucky cheese is that if the big kids play in the arcades and tubes, your baby will want to too but he's not old enough. I say rather than making the party big and crazy, just invite alot of people and kids over so its still big and special, but most things for kids will be to big for your baby. so just invite a clown or a magician for the party. good luck!|||okay, have you not seen that there is a war going on and starving children in Africa with many illnesses, wake up the celebration of life at one is great but let's get realistic he won't remember it and the chucky cheese is so disturbingly disgusting I have no idea where to begin, look around and hug him and give him a chance at new ideas that will shape and change this ugly society we are creating|||at that age, either your home or a relative's home.|||(now lets get real here) your kids 1 and you want the party right, the kid will never remember it save your money bake a cake and take some picks at home put the money you were gonna waiste in a savings bond for the kids college.|||home, he's only turning 1 u should'nt waste a lot of $$ on a party he won't remember|||I think you should consider having your baby's B-day at home or maybe a picnic in the park would be nice.Chucky Cheese is a bit overwhelming for a one year old.|||He might be afraid of the mouse! • I no. ur gonna say "ur too young." "Go to Chucky Cheese or something." But kids theese days r bf and gf at this age. Thank you for ur help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!|||Yeah I do think it's too young, 5th grade? You have the rest of your life to date guys. Nothing is gonna last in 5th grade, or even middle school at that. Anyway, just tell your parents to sit in the back or something, that way she can watch you, but you still have your space.|||Oh my god, you referenced the show with Zach and Cody...you really are that young. lol.

If you protest or tell your mom you don't want her there, she will get all uppity and think you are up to no good and then she won't even let you go out at all.

    My advice...

Play it cool, act like it is no big deal. She will probably just drop the two of you off and sit in the car and wait till the movie is over. But if she ends up going inside with the two of you...who cares! Your mom is just trying to do what is best for you...or what she thinks is best for you. Come on...if you had kids and they were just about to start dating...would you let them go out alone! Heck no!

At any rate, have a good evening...whatever you decide to do.

I had an interview at Chucky Cheeses and at first everything went well. then they told me that they wanted me to run around the place and yell out "I LOVE CHUCKY CHEESE!!" and act like an airplane. I really needed a job so i did it. afterwards i sat back down and he told me that he was going to check with the hiring manager. He came back and told me that they looked pretty full and to check back in a couple weeks. Before they told me that they were hiring. As I was leaving the person working at the door was laughing. I was soooo embarrassed and humiliated. I am in emotional distress.

Also not that it matters but i am a white male age 16.

I called that evening and asked why I had to do it and the manager told me it was part of the interview process.
When I applied they gave me a form that had all of the positions and what was required in those positions and being chucky the mouse was NOT on the list. I did not apply to be an actor.

    Can I do anything legally?
It happend Tuesday Night at 8pm|||No, you can't. That maneuver was to see if you could take doing idiotic things in public. Remember, the clientele at Chucky Cheeses is 4-9 year olds, and they need constant entertainment.

Look at it this way, if you don't get the job, you won't have to succumb to pretending you're an airplane or anything else.

Get a job cleaning office buildings.|||nope. I wouldn't go around advertising it if you're embarrassed. Lots of places make you do a test of some sort, like singing for Texas Roadhouse.|||No, you can't sue just because they told you to do something.

If someone tells you to fail your test, you can't sue them for it! You agreed to them, it's your fault! If it didn't say so on the form, then you should've just say no, and left. Find a different Chucky Cheese store. Or, just find a different job. You're still 16, there's not much you can do.|||No, unfortunately you can't sue someone for being a jerk. If one could, I think everyone would be in the middle of a court proceeding. To be honest, I would not work for someone who would use their employees in such a fashion. Can you even imagine the crap they would make you do just because they are paying you? There are so many vices that are attached to be a young person looking for work. Employees automatically assume that you're a slack- as*, you're caddy, irresponsible and dumber than a brick. Handing in a resume can be a pretty rich experience- as you well know. They'll do one of the two things: 1. They'll be incredibly rude, and or dismissive; 2. They'll be so nice to you because they think you're young an sensitive, that you receive this false hope that you are a contender or have landed the job. Of course, I would say about 80% of the time, the stereotypes of young people are not true. I worked in retail a year ago- I was the youngest person of the staff. Not only were my fellow colleagues about thirty years older than me, but they were ostentatious, caddy and bent the rules while I was constantly receiving innuendoes that I was on narcotics, stealing, simply did not know what I was doing, and amidst all of these, I was consistently watched. Could I have filed a workplace harassment suite? Yes, but it cost money and takes up a heck of a lot of everyone's time to give a wrist slap to a few a** holes. Keep looking, good luck, don't be disrespectful, but don't take any abuse.|||No, gosh, they need someone to have fun with the children & be excited with them. You are not the man for the job hun.

There will be no birthday celebrations except those held at either his home or hers (e.g., no Chucky Cheese's) unless both parties consent and neither party will take the children out of town on their birthdays.|||sounds like BS to me. Don't know why anyone would sign a divorce settlement with some crap like that in it.|||If you are getting divorced, how do you have the nerve to try to prevent your former husband from bring a new wife or significant other to events for his own children. It sounds like you are angry, but that is ridiculous.|||Sorry but that's just selfish on your part. Why would you deny your children their right to have as many people that love them (regardless of relationship) attend any of their celebrations that are able? Children deserve all the love that they can get and if it happens to come from someone that you don't like, SO WHAT?! Stop thinking about yourself and put your children's needs and wants above your own.|||I think you just have to agree you both moved on and let your ex bring his new wife or girlfriend to the wedding. I don't understand what the problem is..... they are there for the kids not for you.|||First of all you are in the wrong place for a correct response. Second, how petty can you be by not letting your children make these choices if they want to include their parent and new spouse or friend??? And to deny them to come to celebrations is very immature, you need to get past this and move forward in your own life and let your children be happy with the both of you, even if you cannot tolerate each other....stay apart and help your family move on. Did you ever hear of being the bigger person? Also did you ever think that they may not want to attend with you being there? I do agree on not taking children out of town without each others consent, that's just common sense and a courtesy to each other. Good Luck to You and Your Children.|||That is really really sef centered and it shows just how much of a jealous person you are. What if you have a significant other? Would you exclude them from your daughters wedding?? You cant ask your ex to do that. Its irrational

when i was younger i loved going to chucky cheese and places like that but is all the new technology in the world making less and less people go to these kinds of places? think of it this way. if you had an xbox 360 in front of you or a chance to go to an arcade what would you choose? and dont forget, not all arcades now days are trashy like chucky cheese, look at dave and busters, they have a bar and TVs everywhere.|||Sadly the days of arcades are numbered. There are a few exceptions like chucky cheese and dave and busters but those places are catering to a certain crowd and have other catches besides just video games. However the good old days where you could spend hours and hours dropping quarters into ninja turtles are ending. Okay, so I ticked off my gf today when I told her she went overboard disciplining the kids. (reference my last question if you want).

It'll be at least three days before she's willing to admit she might have been wrong, but I might as well apologize now so she'll speak to me again.

For now, I'm grabbing the kids and taking them to Chucky Cheese, because she obviously wants to be left alone.

My daughter is turning 5 October 1st. I want to do something special for her. I want to have her party some where. Not to sure where to have it. I don't really want to take her to Chucky E Cheese. It seem that everyone takes there kids there. That and she doesn't know alot of kids her age. We live in MI so its kinda cold to have it at a park or something.
    Anyone have any Ideas?!?
Please help. I'm lost at what to do.|||my daughter turned 6 in June, and for her party this year, as well as last year, i had her party at a nearby rec centre.

it is relatively inexpensive and you can chose what room to have it in. we usually swim for an hour (indoor pool) and then go to the craft room for cake and presents. we then go to the gym (or playground outside depending on the weather) and play.

alternatively, you could have her party at McDonald's .. still popular with kids and no clean up afterwards :o)|||it depends from which country you are.

i've taken my daughter to a ball park in wembley called Fantacy Island. They have alot of activities and they do all the catering.

all i had to do it bring the cake. they supply invitations, party bags and gifts for the kids. there is a huge play area and a restuarant for parents. kids get a menu to choose from and get free drinks.

have a look on the website for activity areas.
it is very similar to the wacky warehouse.|||How about a farm, to go pumpkin or apple picking. We have a few around here. I was thinking a surprise b-day party... but not sure how or what the theme should be?|||Make cupcakes with a sporty theme. Take the kids to the park to fly kites, play ball, any sport you can do in a park. Keep it simple & the kids will make their own fun!|||Does he like LazyTown? There are lots of things LazyTown fans can do with LazyTown pictures. One of the most popular activities is printing out black and white pictures with your printer and then using them as LazyTown coloring pages. You could even get a hole punch and a binder and make your very own LazyTown coloring book. Or if you have a color printer you can print out LazyTown pictures in color and make mini LazyTown posters for your walls.

You could also make a scrap book with all things LazyTown, including LazyTown pictures, LazyTown cards and your LazyTown wish list. Again, a binder would be good to use for this LazyTown project or even a photo album, the kind with the sticky pages.

Another idea involves another kind of sticky paper. Buy some label paper at an office supply store. Print out your LazyTown pictures on the label paper and you have your very own LazyTown stickers that you can put anywhere. Use them on your backpack, your folders, your notebooks and other stuff for your very own homemade LazyTown school supplies.

If you can get some heavier weight paper, like white construction paper, you can print out LazyTown character faces and make masks. You just need to punch holes near the "ears" and tie strings through the holes. Place the mask on, tie the strings behind your head and voila you and your friends can be Sportacus, Stephanie, Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel or even Mayor Milford Meanswell or Robbie Rotten. The things you can do with LazyTown pictures can only be limited by your imagination and creativity.

Take a look at this http://www.nickjr.com/shows/lazytown/par鈥?/a>|||Go to the dollar store or party store and buy plates, and other table dressings in a sports theme. Depending on time of year, you could set up games outside such as flag football, flying kites, or going to a nearby b-ball court. If you go to a public park with a mini-golf course this is also pretty cheap. After all this you could also watch sports related movies for kids such as the mighty ducks etc... with a little help from Blockbuster.com or Netflix.com you can find a list of movies that the kids are sure to enjoy. You could serve sports related food such as hamburgers, hotdogs, sports drinks et... If you go to a party store you could buy a football, basketball, or soccer ball piniata. You could also get cheap party favors with your theme.|||SURPRISE PARTY GREAT, FIND OLD BOARD GAMES, AND MAKE TEAMS, MUSIC WHAT HE LIKES,MAKE CUPCAKES AND LET EVERYONE DECORATE, BUY HOTDOGS AND PIZZA,,NAMASTE|||I don't think house parties can ever be done too much. You could eat food like you would at a real stadium like nachos, hot dogs, cheese fries, etc. There are lots of different things you could do with a sports themed party.

Depending on your budget, I think a real fun idea for a surprise birthday would be if someone took him and maybe one or two friends to a real sports game (professional or minor league) and then have the party waiting for him when he gets home. I saw adorable baseball cookies on Cakecentral.com that are individually wrapped with a tag that says their team and opening day, as the day of their game. For food, you could have hotdogs, popcorn, and sunflower seeds. Let's face it, they usually don't eat anyway. Then you can have a little game. Even a wyffle ball game. No gloves necessary. If he likes a different sport, just change it to that sport. Have cupcakes, instead of cakes to minimize the mess.|||You could find a cake pan shaped like a sports ball and then decorate to look like that ball. • I want to have a big party for my daughter she will be two in feb. I was thinking of like a park but it may be too cold... I am not sure if Chucky Cheese is good for a two year old... I don't know what to do... any suggestions??|||Well it depends on your child.
My two year old LOVES being outdoors, so we decided to have his 2nd birthday party at a park. At the age of two it's mostly for the parents to celebrate but we wanted to make sure our son had a fun time too.
The advantages of a park are...it's cheap. Especially if you find a nice park with minimal people and lots of picnic tables because you won't have to rent the place. You can also choose how long you want the party to last,if you want food (ex. BBQ at the park),how many people you want to invite. It just gives you much more freedom than renting one of those party places like chucky cheese, or peter pipers.
We had our sons birthday party lasted for about 6 hours (he doesn't like naps) and he loved it. He was running around watching everyone having fun and he never got cranky because he was free to move about and explore with out us having to tell him no. Over all it was a great time. It was kind of cold when we had the party too. It was in November...but at long as it's not freezing id say do it :)|||Have it at home or at one of the grandparents' or aunts' and uncles' houses.

Two is too young to pay for a big bash at a restaurant of any kind. Two year olds get very tired and cranky and do not appreciate that kind of thing. Even a big party is sort of an iffy idea.

We went to chucky cheese the other day...and I went with one of my friends who has a 4 year old and a little boy who is a month older than my son. My son will be 2 in Dec. Anyways, while we were there all of the other kids went into these play tunnels, but my son would not go whatsoever...he wanted nothing to do it. Also, this chucky swing that goes around a clock..he freaked out when we put him in it...why is he freaking out so much....is it because he is so caucious?|||I am not sure why, your son is like this. You could make a tunnel at home all you need is some boxes and open them up put them together with some tape so it will hold and show him he may not want to and that is fine it was home made or you could go out and buy one the.
we have a 1 year old and we have a tunnel and he goes in it but he will not go in the tunnels at like fast food places he will go though the one at the park and i think that it may because they are short and not connected to each other
All kids are different he will when he wants to you cant push him and if you push he may not like that
try your best to help him come over this fear that he has then go back to Chucky cheese and try it again when he is a little older then he may like it
I would make him a tunnel though or get one and try with that
I do hope that this will help you
Good Luck|||Two year olds really aren't that cautious. He's a little too young to enjoy those kinds of things, especially if he's far away from mommy.|||He may have had a bad experience or he might be claustrophobic|||My son is pretty timid, too. Don't worry about it - don't force him into anything he doesn't want to do, and he'll eventually get comfortable with it and go in on his own.|||maybe claustrophobic? My daughter is almost 4 and isn't a fan of those tubes either.|||I have home movies of me FREAKING out and throwing a fit at Chucky Cheese when I was about 3 or 4 because I was scared of Chucky. I think it's a pretty natural feeling to be scared of things you've never been around. He could be afraid of where those tunnels will lead or what will happen to him if he goes on that ride. He'll grow out of it...I turned out alright. LOL|||maybe he has a case of chlostophobia. as a young child, i wasn't able to go in tunnels or play in ball pits in fear of getting stuck in them.|||sometimes play areas look too intimidating if its big and bright.
he may just enjoy smaller play areas instead of a tunnel which he may not understand that its a slippery slide but enclosed.
i wouldnt be concerned as he is still young but as he gets older he will grasp the excitement of it all.
over stimulation to play can have an opposite effect to some children.|||It's new and scary...my son doesn't like to go upside down...it got to the point where he wouldn't even get a piggy-back-ride for fear that the person might put him upside down....children are allowed to be scared of new things...at least that's how I feel...so I just explain how things really aren't all that scary and I wait for him to grow out of it...it'll happen, one day he'll forget he's supposed to be scared of the tunnels and he'll just run gleefully in one after his friend. He'll work it out on his own...just be patient and kind and loving and don't force it or he'll keep that fear for a long time. Hope this helps.|||babies have a sixth sense about alot of things. if i were you i wouldnt force him to do it. He is still a little guy as he gets older he will have more confidence to tackle big black holes. those tunnels are scary to the little folks|||its normal. they are just afraid of the unknown...or new things they haven't yet experienced. it can take a while for them to get used to. my daughter loves playing in the bath and in the pool but it took me forever to get her used to a slip and slide. go figure!|||I remember when I used to babysit and one of the girls seemed to be scared of everything, Even tunnels at the park. So I decided that I would make a tent with blankets and chairs and we had a snack and some toys in it. But make sure you all get in, to let him know it really can be fun! Good luck and best wishes|||maybe hes claughstrophobic or just doesnt like them lol . i had some things i didnt really want to play on when i was a little kid lol or maybe hes scared where they are going .. another possiblity is was it rainy ?? maybe he didnt want to get wet! or he could just not be ready for it !! dont force him!! hell learn how on his own

    HOPE HTIS HELPED!!

---EMILY <3|||Don't worry. It isn't an indication of anything besides he doesn't like play tunnels.|||Perhaps he is just insecure, my daughter was two and would not ride anything at Chucky Cheese but she later grew out of it. I also think it could be the transition from one to two because my youngest who is almost two would ride everything and now she runs the other way. Just give him time and don't push it, he will ask all on his own.|||Of course he is being cautious. Some toddlers are like that and others not. My son is the same way. He might not be 2 yet but he's not an infant. I wouldn't worry. Kids (especially toddlers) change so much in such a short time. See it as something good, that he is cautious and just does not want to do anything that could get him hurt.

**DISCLAIMER** (I do not mean to refer to ALL parents in this way, but most I have come into contact with)

picking up their slack i mean? like not getting as many excusable sick days cause we dont have johnny kindergartner at home with the flu, Or being expected to babysit, Or having to be their therapist because all they ever want to do is COMPLAIN about this that and the other thing, or being labeled as a "bad friend" if you decline to go to YET ANOTHER birthday party where you have to stuff down another slice of crappy chucky cheese pizza give your gift and listen to a bunch of parents (who used to be able to hold a conversation that didn't include the words binky and tushie) ramble on about every little detail of the parental cycle. OH and the WORST thing "When are you gonna settle down and be as happy as us?" or being labeled as "reckless" because you (like them before the kid popped out) like to go out and have a good time on the weekends with your unshackeled friends.|||Absolutely. Especially since I'm married I keep getting the "so when are you two going to have children...." comment. Nobody ever stops to think that perhaps we are unable to have children. In such a case, it's like salt in a wound. I know they mean well, but that doesn't stop my wife from bawling when we get home. A word to others, never ask a couple when they're going to have children. If they are unable, your question will be most unwelcome.|||I do find myself making sure to avoid some of the "parental" social occasions. I don't like children, I'm not going to have any, and I don't much care to spend time that focuses on them. I just try to be selective about what time I spend with my friends who have children, and find times that don't include the wee little nippers. Works out best for us all, in the end.|||FINALLY SOMEONE WITH LOGIC ON THEIR SIDE!!!!|||I am not offended at all by this question and I am a parent. I feel the same way. I wish I could go out and have the good times that I did have but again I don't miss the hang over. In all honesty we parents even have to pull the slack for other parents. Don't get me wrong I am not a saint but I have a co-worker that is never here it is one kid or the other not to mention her husband, elderly father, sick mother or even dog. So you are not in the boat alone and we all can feel that way.|||Well so far none of my friends have kids yet, but today at work there was this kid crying so LOUD (very annoying) and again I told myself "That's why I don't have kids, they are annoying!"
Kids? Not for me.|||Well, I am a parent- and I am glad you said not all parents, because we are not all like that. I think it is very important for my balance to be a working mother (not the stay at home working kind) and to continue my friendships with my single, childless friends.

As far as excusable sick days at work- mothers are statistically paid less than non-mothers, even when they put in equal work and are equally educated- so I wouldn't worry too much about comparing sick days. However, men who are married with children make more than single men, and more than women with or without children. Go figure!

However, it is hard to have conversations without mentioning my daughter, partly because I love being a mom, and she is a major, in fact the best reason I can think of to be alive on this planet. That being said, if you don't like hanging out with the parent groups- then find some more friends like yourself that have more in common with you. I had to find friends that were parents so that I would have the support and friendship I needed as a parent- so it goes both ways.

Kudos for staying on birth control if you don't want kids. I totally respect any persons decision to be a parent, or not to be a parent. And having kids when you DON'T want them is a big mistake. You have to find your balance as a woman- and that is whatever you choose for yourself, no matter what the trend is.|||If you can have kids, I think it's a mistake to consciously decide not to have them. Don't ask me how to explain it - you can only understand after you have your own kid. JMHO.

are handed out with every happy meal?

its not like they give out guns for so many prize tickets and chucky cheese.|||Because liberals are idiots who will take any piece of info and run with it. Guns dont kill people. People kill people. And the people who use guns to kill people almost always got them ILLEGALLY. It isnt the people who own and use them legally who are murdering people with them. Its the screwed up mental freaks who should be locked up in an institution (but arent thanks to Liberals ONCE AGAIN) who are!|||Compared to the rest of the world it is.|||Citizens of countries that don't allow guns seem to think they're higher up on the food chain. Problem is; where there is demand, there is supply. The cocaine dealer anywhere in the EU who thinks he needs gun can get one. People are being naive to think that the implementation of a law is the end of the issue.|||you know what Sway this has to be one of the smartest questions i have ever seen you post. people on here like to exaggerate to the fullest.|||because it is so easy to get one, but u have to now the rigth people|||Rhetoric, that's all it is. Those who believe it, believe the rhetoric from those who are trying to stop all guns.|||There are over FORTY THOUSAND fatal gunshot fatalities EVERY year in the U.S. Over 100,000 non-fatal. Bubba doesn't need a bazooka to bag Bambi. SOMEONE'S passing out guns in happy meals somewhere. Now, if we could only put some more chlorine in the gene pool. Hey, WAIT! Here's an even better way to weed out the morons. Vote Republican and let the NRA put automatic weapons in EVERYONE'S dorm room. Cool, man.|||it has a lot to do with the media and those ageist guns they try to make the general population so worried that there kid will get one and go nuts so they try to make people think all people want guns for is to rob and kill when most people have it for fun at the gun range also hunting and like in my case it is both hunting and fun at the range but also for protection for my family and animals from other animals in the sort people who don't like guns want people with them to give them up they think we as American don't need them for any reason there all bad but in reality there are more people with guns that don't do anything wrong than the criminals that have them to do harm and rob its that simple if people what guns out of the hands of those that want to do bafd things then guess what make it so they cant get them quit picking on those of us that dont want to break the law and jjust want to do what we have been doing for like 200 years|||If the only thing you require in many states is a paper which says you're not mad, given a degree of incompetency in the analysis of a 60% and given the population of those states, you have maaaany psychos dancing around who have an easy access to weapons.|||I agree. Responsible people have the right to bare arms and that will never be taken away. In a world like ours you are going to get some freak events, but it is not exactly common. If the youth had better leadership and more good examples to follow, I think you would see even less stupid violence. There is a lot of disrespect and selfishness in our society. It has not often been created by the youth however, it has been passed down by the adults and often put upon the heads of the young. Hate and fear spread when you put it upon each other and sometimes that anger becomes unleashed in an ugly way. And so the world keeps on spinning and they continue to give out just toys with the happy meals.|||That's a LITTLE far fetched as far as what people think. I was surprised to hear the claims from the chief of police in NYC on Prime Time Live last night. He said that just about every other crime committed with a gun, in his precinct, found that the gun came from VA. This tells me that they are pretty easy to acquire in VA. Maybe not in Happy Meals, but still..........|||your right, I got mine home delivered by pizza hut.|||Because we liberals are all so stupid. And just because a Conservitive says that's what we think it must be true.|||It seems it is almost that easy in Virginia. The mass killer, an immigrant, bought 3 guns in 3 days.

Chucky cheese is fine but she is one wat is she going to do???? Stare at the mouse???|||Depending on the ages of the other children attending...you can try chuck E Cheese. If there are not that many children over the age of 3I would suggest renting a hall if you don't want to have it at your place. |||This is a joke right??? The child will be 1...who's going to know this? Her baby friends?
Don't you really want to have a mommy party? I cannot believe I am even answering this stupid question.!!!|||Chuck E Cheese is definitely geared toward older kids and I wouldn't recommend it. The best places would be at home or a public park that offers a pavilion. If you want a party that will be more prearranged and plan to have other small children, the parties at Gymboree play centers are always neat. They're designed for kids between the ages of 1 and 5. The link below is to the Gymboree Play & Music website. You can enter your zip code to see if there is a center in your area. I had both of my daughters' first birthday parties at home. Anything you do beyond that is really for the adults and not the child anyway. She's not going to remember a thing about it, or realize why that the day is different than any other.|||When my daughter turned one, we had her party at our house with family and friends and let her dig right into hr birthday cake. I think that's great for a one year old. nothing too big and nothing too small. Just take lots of pics to remember the big day. do a cook out or something easy that day to make.|||I wouldn't have a 1 year birthday there. she's too young to enjoy it. If you really don't want to have it at the house then you can have it at a nice park if weather would permit. That's where I had my oldest's first birthday and she was born in October. Or if you have a few other friends with young kids you could see if Gymboree does parties. But I wouldn't do that if it were going to be mostly older kids or your adult families and friends. Good luck.|||She is a year old. She won't remember it. Have a picnic in the park or the back yard. It won't be too noisy and stressful for her.|||When my grandson turned one we rented a daycare for a couple hours on a Saturday. It was great the kids had a blast. My daughter just talked to the daycare owner and she agreed to let us do it there. We had access to all the toys, playground and kitchen. I think we paid something like $50 for a couple hours. |||maybe a park |||Honestly, save your money for parties she will remember. I would have it at home so she is comfortable and feels safe. Babies that age don't understand or get what is going on, and since I have 5 children myself, I know it is usually for the mom and dad to show their pride in their baby. Otherwise, the park sounds like a nice place. Don't waste time, money, energy or effort that will only be remembered in pictures. You will all be exhusted and usually it never turns out the way you want it anyway. At least if your at home, she can take a nap if she gets tired, because she will definately not be able to deal with more than an hour or hour and a half of all that stimuli. And what ever you do, do not have it at Chuck E Cheese....way too much of a stimuli overload. That place is like death to me...lol. I couldn't even handle having my sons birthday there when he was 9. It is so noisy and way too many people and kids that your party will be over shadowed by all the annoying people who don't pay attention to their obnoxious children. Good luck and happy birthday to your little girl!|||My cousin had a gorgeous party for her one year old son at a park. There were grills for the adults, a playground for children, and the babies..... well, really babies love it anywhere they're comfortable and fed, so, set the little guys on a couple blankets on the grass with toys and there we go! |||She's a little young to take full advantage of Chucky Cheese. Birthday parties for toddlers are more for the parents than for the child. They will probably not remember these birthday parties, but you will.
If you are determined to have a party for her consider:

    the park-barbecues are nice
    the petting zoo

I have one daughter, our youngest, we had everyone at O'Charley's around 4:00 in the afternoon. They accommodated everything for us including keeping our cake in the fridge and serving it at the right time. It was great.|||How about the city park? We live in a small town, and can reserve the covered picnic area for around $25.00. They have bar-b-que grills for hotdogs and burgers, and picnic tables to sit at, and playground equipment for kids to play at. Have fun, our son will be 1 this month too!|||In my area we have several indoor jumping arenas. There are literally 30+ blow up toys-trampolines that kids can play on; like the big jumping things in carnivals. Look in your yellow pages book under party-parties...Chuck E. Cheese is not a good place to have a 1 year old birthday party.

I was floating down a river along with a bunch of gorillas and kangaroos. When I got too close to the gorillas they would push be toward the kangaroos which would immediately punch me in the face. I swam to shore where there was this little town performing a musical reenactment of the D-Day landings at Normandy during world war II. So I climbed up on the roof of one of the buildings to watch this play out but I had to leave the town because the boxing kangaroos had followed me onto the roof and they still wanted to kick my ***. SO I escaped the kangaroos by ducking inside a Chucky Cheese and hiding in the ball room underneath all those little colored plastic balls in that pit only the pit had no bottom and I kept sinking until I eventually landed on a giant dinner plate where a giant Rosie O'Donell was trying to stab me with a fork and eat me. |||If End of World Threats induce Chunky Cheese party's, then I say we need more! Besides, aren't we supposed to live each day like it was our last?|||This is just a rumor spread by practical jokers and hysterical people, mostly teenagers who will believe anything that their 'friends' tell them. Who told you about this? Do they actually know anything about particle physics? Ask them what a gauge boson is. If you read this in a newspaper, go back and read the whole article, not just the sensational part at the top.

I forget what the chances of a black hole forming are, but you would not put 50 cents on it with a bookmaker.

Even if by some faint chance a black hole does form, it's mass will be tiny. Since the life of a black hole is proportional to the cube of it's mass, it would evaporate through Hawking radiation before it could swallow a single atom.

Cosmic rays with equal and rather greater energies to what this machine can provide strike the upper atmosphere or the Earth pretty frequently, Ones with greater energies, up to almost 15 times as much have been recorded. And that is only the ones that have been recorded, there are not all that many detectors in the world. This has been going on for billions of years. If there was any danger the Earth would have been a black hole billions of years ago.

Hope the cheese is good and strong. I hate soapy cheese. |||To expand on the guy above, it's a 1 in 50,000,000 chance, and that statistic itself was taken from a book that was quoted out of context in several places which in itself sums up this whole thing.

And the part about the teenagers - I resent that, I think it's mainly just uneducated people in general that are very gullible and think they knowbetter than thousands of scientists that have been studying their field for decades.|||Just think...no more credit crunch, gordon brown or British gas...no more freezing cold weather, no more hoodie shoot em up crime gangs, no more Britian...Hurray!!! We went in teams of 3 or 4 and there was 3 teams, but you could have more teams depends on how many you invite. You make a list of loads of stuff (ex. Napkin, coffee stirrer, job application form, cheesy photo of a person at work) and in your teams you have to find all these things. One rule could be that you can't spend ANY money. Things could be worth different amount of points, like you could try and get a picture of a boy kissing you on the cheek for 10 points (that was one of my friends idea she used) stuff like that! And then at the end you get your mum or someone to count up all the points and a prize, like a spa set or something, for each member of the winning team! Would they have theme parties? Sweet sixteen parties? Would they use a venue like Chucky Cheese? Or Carribean cruise on a ship called the breeze? If pickles had birthday parties would anyone go? I'm curious now, does anyone know?|||If pickles had birthday parties of course I would go.
If I were invited, I would really like to know.
Just what a pickle party is all about.
Would they play games & sing & shout?
Would they serve french bread, hotdogs & cheese?
Or would they simply skip to the ice cream, please.
Oh what fun I'm sure they would have.
whether they be whole or just thin halves.
If one wasn't invited I'm sure there would be a rift.

The party is at Chucky Cheeses by the way WHAT DO I DO any advice helps plz|||Unfortunately the only way you are going to make an impression here is by getting that kid a nice present. Mom's are very overprotective of their children when they are dating someone who is not their father. If you want to really impress that woman and her mother, get the kid a present. Once you are there at the party, help play host. Your girlfriend already has a lot on her mind with the planning of the event and making sure everyone is taken care of and is having a good time. Take some of that burden off her shoulders by going around and asking people if they need anything and making sure everyone is where they are supposed to be. Be friendly and courteous and keep making your rounds, in other words, don't just sit there like you are another guest at the party. You are basically showing her what kind of long term partner you can be for her and her daughter. They don't need to be doing that - that's not educational and not fun for the animals. In the wild, they would never do tricks like they're taught.|||The Zoo sounds like a fantastic idea. And I think your living room or back yard would be better. Or the playground on the corner. Parties like what you speak of are meant for older children. A one year old doesn't have the attention span and might even get scared and upset by all those people. Keep it small and personal. Just a few close relatives or friends. The child won't remember it anyways. Remember, its a childs party, not an adult party.

in a airport or chucky cheeses|||The Second Amendment.|||I'm not a Republican and I don't think I have the right to carry a gun - I KNOW I have the right to carry a gun. I have CCW permit issued by the State of Indiana, but even if I didn't, I'd still carry it - I have to protect myself from all of them Republican tweakers out there in la la land.

I can carry it into an airport, but not in the boarding area or on-board a commercial airliner. Never been to chucky cheeses tho'.

That's right, this Independent Granny is packin' heat.|||Responsible people don't misuse guns; only criminals do.

The Constitution says "individuals may own guns and Congress cannot restrict this right" (paraphrasing; you can read the exact text for yourself).

The best way to make sure that an airplane is never taken hostage is to arm all the passengers. When someone jumps up to take over, have the nearest three people shoot him. Forget movie physics--discharging guns in an airplane does *not* cause explosive decompression or blow a big hole in the side of the plane.

The best way to stop bank robberies is to arm all the tellers. As soon as the robber says "put the money in the bag" the tellers ventilate him. Simple.|||"..,the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."(Second Amendment to the Constitution.)

"The great object is that every man be armed . . . Everyone who is able may have a gun." (Patrick Henry, in the Virginia Convention on the ratification of the Constitution.)

"The advantage of being armed . . . the Americans possess over the people of all other nations . . . Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several Kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (James Madison, author of the Bill of Rights, in his Federalist Paper No. 46.)

In my studies as an attorney and as a United States Senator, I have constantly been amazed by the indifference or even hostility shown the Second Amendment by courts, legislatures, and commentators. James Madison would be startled to hear that his recognition of a right to keep and bear arms, which passed the House by a voice vote without objection and hardly a debate, has since been construed in but a single, and most ambiguous Supreme Court decision, whereas his proposals for freedom of religion, which he made reluctantly out of fear that they would be rejected or narrowed beyond use, and those for freedom of assembly, which passed only after a lengthy and bitter debate, are the subject of scores of detailed and favorable decisions. Thomas Jefferson, who kept a veritable armory of pistols, rifles and shotguns at Monticello, and advised his nephew to forsake other sports in favor of hunting, would be astounded to hear supposed civil libertarians claim firearm ownership should be restricted. Samuel Adams, a handgun owner who pressed for an amendment stating that the "Constitution shall never be construed . . . to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms," would be shocked to hear that his native state today imposes a year's sentence, without probation or parole, for carrying a firearm without a police permit. I really don't understand why women choose to leave their purses in their cars in a parking lot only to have them stolen. Just today, I read of another incident whereby a car window was broken and a thief made off with a woman's purse. It seems it's usually outside of a bar or a health club. But today, it was outside of a kid's Chucky Cheese restaurant. I, personally, have never left my purse in a car, and if I did, I'd tuck it under the seat and out of sight. What do you people think?|||I agree that it's a very bad idea. I think women who leave their purses in plain sight feel that, hey, my car is locked- nobody will take the time to break in. Wrong! I was at a local mall a couple of weeks ago and was parked on the second level of the parking structure. There were a TON of cars, lots of traffic, both foot and vehicle and it was the morning. There is also, always, a very strong security presence in the parking area, both car and foot patrols. In spite of all that, when I came out to get in my car, there were mall security people all over two vehicles one row over from my car- both vehicles had the driver's side windows smashed out. Apparently, if someone wants something badly enough, NOTHING is going to stop them.|||Perhaps someone is collecting purses in your neighborhood?|||I think if you're smart, you'll either leave your purse at home or take it with you. and if a guy does come after you for your purse? throw it in the other direction and run. most likely, he doesnt want you. Oh-another thing. Stop obbsessing! Things like that arent worth obbsessing over. Whatever happens, happens. Life. Goes. On. Nobody has any choice but to go on with it, right?|||women huh! i dont know why people leave things on show in cars, tough lesson!|||the same reason women leave their purses on or in their unlocked desk drawers. they just don't want to carry them.|||I agree. It is silly. But as a woman who frequently does this, I would provide this as an explanation:

Women have it pretty tough; we are expected to be cute, work, and be a mother. For some of us, even the burden of carrying around a purse, at times, is cumbersome. To cut down on those much-needed "seconds" even, popping one's purse down on the seat does the trick.

Running in the store or visiting a friend for a few? Pop it down.

Moreover, instead of carrying a whole purse into a nightclub, just pop your license and visa in your pocket and go; pop the purse on the seat!

Like I said, this is not smart - but quick.|||Dumb broads, what can I say. Someone should show them where the trunk is.

  • My (soon to be) 4 year old son's birthday will fall on a Thursday. He is looking forward to a party at Chucky Cheese...you know, over priced pizza, lots of games and running around inside. I was planning to have his party early on the Sat. following his actual date but I am in class all day Sat. I thought about moving it to Sunday 11am. (11-12 ish isn't so busy at this place) but I'm worried that people might not come because it's on a Sunday. Should I miss class and have it on Sat. Try for Sunday and hope that it doesn't offend anyone I invite that it could interfere with church or...have his dad take the day off work and try for Friday after Preschool?|||I vote for Sunday, maybe a little later in the afternoon, but before the place gets crammed. Even if the turnout is smaller due to the day, your son will still have fun running about and playing with whomever shows up. Chucky Cheese is little kid paradise! Not to mention that few of us have a particularly vivid memory of our 4th birthdays, so making a few adjustments to make things easier on you and your husband's schedules is not likely to be noticed by your son as long as he has fun!

Good Luck and Congratulations to your little one!|||Sunday is fine! I would try to make it later in the day because of the church thing....|||I have my sons parties on Sunday after church. It is cheaper and less crowded|||tuesday|||I would do Sun. afternoon or evening, after church.|||Sunday is fine hun. I would just push the time back a bit. Saturday is a little easier for people to show up on though.|||Call a few of the other kids parents and ask them if they will show up on Sunday.|||Well, you could always have his party the weekend after his birthday. Like instead of this week, do it next week. That's how it was a lot of the time when I was in elementary school. Someone would have a birthday but their party would be the week before or the week after. You could still have it this Sunday though, surely people would still come.|||I would actually recommend later on Sunday since some people attend church until that time. Sunday is fine. I had many of my birthday parties on Sunday.|||Sunday, some time in the afternoon, so that it doesnt interfere with oversleepers, and gives enough time for people in church to do their church thing and then get ready for the party and things like that.|||I would say a Sat. a lot of people don't work on Sat. and Sundays are very busy days!Good luck and I hope he has a Great 4th birthday!!!|||I'd go for Sunday afternoon. Try late in the evening on Sunday about 3 or 4 pm. That way people who are fashionable can bring their kids on time. And it won't be so hot.|||Well looks like your in a tough decision. I would let him go thursday and you have your class on Saturday.....|||If you want all his friends to be there and get lots of gifts you should have it on saturday morning. Almost everyone is off and the little guys will love to have a good time with your son. You don't have to have it at chucky cheese. you could always have a theme at a park. Plus I think you could only spent an hour at chucky cheese after that is clean up time and you are own your own.|||Maybe Sunday at 1pm would work, its after most churches let out and at lunch time, I'm sure what ever you decide it will be a wonderful day.|||How about ON his birthday? If he has pre-school, you can go after. And his friends from pre-school can be picked up, with him, and go also. Have the parents of his friends pick them up at a set time at Chucky Cheese. This way, when the party is done, so are you. (At least, with the party!)|||If any of the other parents are friends of yours then ask them, otherwise do it Sunday but not 11 or 12....some people go to church and some just want to sleep in on their day off.|||I would have to miss class for this. Sunday is probably not a good day to have a birthday party simply because of church. Friday is still a work day and most people will be working and not able to take there kids. So Saturday is def. your best pick.|||If the group you are planning to invite isn't too large, you could probably get a feel for what would work best for them by asking before you set the details. You have to be the one to decide whether you can skip school and Dad has to decide whether he can take off work. I know you'll find a solution. Good for you for doing something nice for your boy!|||I always celebrate my Kids Bday parties on the exact day.. I want to celebrate the occasion.. I believe moving parties for weekends, since they are little it doesn't make them feel special because it is not the right day. Darn Can't even explain what I mean.. If you can explain a 3 year old hey your Bday is today but we are waiting to cut you a cake on Sunday.. then go ahead and celebrate couple days later. Good Luck!!|||I think you could afford to miss a class since it's for your son's birthday party. See if your instructor will understand. school is important, but the memories he'll have and knowing Mommy made the party happen will really feel good, for the both of you. Get his dad to take off too so he can help. a four yr. olds birthday party can get hectic. I know from personal experience, but the memories make it worthwhile.|||Saturday is good for most every body because that is the day when people fit in the things that they can't get to during the week. If at all possible do Saturday.People will feel less imposed upon. See about making up the class, if it is feasible.
Sunday makes you have to kind of crowd things together. People go to church and usually don't want to think of doing anything after but rest at home or have a nice dinner with the family and all.|||Sunday would be fine. I've had parties on Sunday, less crowded.|||Yes, have it on sat. or see when the majority of the kids can make it.

    Hi,

My son and I are looking for a video game arcade in the Chicagoland area that we could go to. We visited Nintendo World in New York 2 years ago and had a blast. Idealy, we would be looking for something like that. We have a Dave and Busters and also Chucky Cheese, however we are hoping there is something else out there to try out...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Have a great day!|||There are also Jeepers locations in the Chicagoland area. They are similiar to Chucky Cheese's. I am not even sure if they have Little Ceasar's anymore, but that used to be a really popular place to go when I was growing up.

You might want to try regular old arcades - there is a huge arcade in Gurnee Mills Mall that's pretty fun - it's right next to the ice skating rink. Gurnee Mills Mall is north of Chicago, close to Six Flags Great America.

Most malls have an arcade. It depends where in the Chicagoland you reside, but I can think of a couple of local places right off the top of my head. I would recommend the Gurnee Mills arcade most.

This weekend my son is turning "4", and well we need some ideas for what we should do for him. We were thinking of taking him to the zoo and to chucky cheese but I don't know if that's going to be good enough plans for his birthday.

    What would you do?

We did that for my little brothers b-day!

Oh and a Happy Birthday to him!!!!
4 is a fun age lol! ^-^|||I'm sure those plans would be great! I don't know what 4 year old wouldn't like that! I'm sure as long as he's surrounded with friends and family members he'll be happy :)

Here are some other ideas in case you were looking for some: throwing him a pool party or a theme party (for example, if he likes batman, buy a batman cake, plates, cups, games, etc); you could take him to a theme park (although he'd probably enjoy chuck e cheese more at such a young age); or you could rent out some tables a buffet place for dinner (for example, here in FL we have a pizza buffet called Cici's pizza where kids can play games as well as eat)

I still like your ideas best though :)|||Ha! I was in that same dilemma in May, but my son turned 5yrs, what we eventually did was on his b-day which was on a Thursday we took him out to dinner and a movie, to watch his favorite movie, then we gave him all his favorite presents things he kept hinting to us that he wanted, then on the weekend, Saturday to be exact, we kept a huge b-day/barbecue for him we invited all his friends from school and church plus all mine and my husband's family members and we threw a huge b-day/barbecue/pool party, seeing that that day was so hot we all ended up in the pool, there was a kiddie's pool too so the kids played in the kiddie's pool, and the grownups hanged in adult pool.It was alot of fun for him, he enjoyed the party and all the presents he got too.It was his 5th b-day so my hubby and i wanted to celebrate it big with him, usually we'll do the chuck e cheese thing, or simple party, but this year we really wanted to celebrate it big with him, so why not try something like a party for him, or if it's too last minute for you guys, then take him out to a movie and dinner to his favorite place that he likes, anything that he likes will always be good for him.GL.|||You can make a theme for his birthday party. The food is way better and it's alot cheaper. Ordered an ice cream cake. Hopefully it will be fun because we aren't holding it till the end of this month. I don't like it when people say that just because they are a year old it will be too much for them. Thats not true. My daughter is extremely advanced for her age and likes to try and keep up with all the 3 year olds in this family. So yes while she may not remember it, first and foremost, I will and it's not that she won't have a good time. Just try to figure out what you think your child will enjoy and what you can handle. Also it's way too damn cold for the park right now, so that idea is out for winter babies. I think it will be great. I just couldn't handle that place myself! Not till she is a little older. I also want to eat some good food whenever I am having a celebration lol and Chuck E Cheese is not the place for that! Anyway good luck. I hope you have fun. Oh! BTW, go to Baskin Robbins for an ice cream cake. They are adorable and they have perfect themes for the smaller kid. Love it. Finger foods, fruit, veggie tray, a few buffet type stuff like ziti and mac & cheese then cupcakes and birthday cake. It was in our house.

It is easy to become overstimulated and overwhelmed at that age, she is too young for anything at Chucky Cheese - just keep it simple and have fun!

    LMAO

Man, Rhymefest came pretty hard on that track. I thought it was a good diss.|||Now, I like both Rhymefest and Charles Hamilton......

The diss track itself is funny... I like the Super.. Sonic concept and all.

BUT, the problem is that it does come off kinda bitter because its not like Rhymefest's albums have really been that good. He's very good freestylin', battling, & he's even a pretty good live performer.... He's just NOT that great an "artist"... He hasn't been able to translate who he is into great songs or albums..

Charles Hamilton from the little I've seen ALREADY has that 'thing' about him... He's creative, he's definitely comin' with his original kinda style & flare...

The thing is Charles was NOT AFRAID to admit he lost a battle...So, I don't understand the need for Rhymefest to make this diss track..

It just comes off as a dude who's a little bitter because HE wrote "Jesus Walks" and I'm sure thought he would get much hype from that but he didn't... NOW this kid is gettin' the hype that he WISH he had.|||it was funny wit the JJ fade "Super Sonic" in the background.... but it just play for attention. • People say 13 year olds are little kids, and I disagree. Little kids want to go to chucky cheeses, Little kids dont have raging hormones, little kids cant have sex, little kids cant grow pubic hair. I wouldnt call teens adults, but theyre are far from being kids. I cant believe it when people say they're shocked when 13 year olds drink, have sex and do drugs........how long do you think that soda pop and skittles were gonna entertain teens? Teens have a diffrent mindset than kids.|||Spoken like a true young teen or tween. My 12 y.o. daughter gets terribly offended if we refer to her as a 'child' or a 'kid', but she's certainly not an adult and her attitude and behaviour show it.

j0e|||Thankyou. Lots of people think that teens having sex and drinking is a huge thing. I dont really think it is. As long as they are fully aware of the problems they cause, there is no problem in them exploring. Teens have hormones that are gonna want to make them touch eachother, theres no stopping that. Everyone matures at different ages, so no one really has any right to tell you what your doing is wrong. Some people say, if you have sex you have to be able to be finanicially set up for having a baby. Well, as long as your protected and you're educated about the problems that could happen, i.e std's, children, lung cancer if your smoking, the effects of drugs..etc its not really a huge problem. Some 25 year olds arent financially secure enough to have a kid, does that mean that they have to be a virgin? er, no. Kids grow up alot faster than previous generations did. And if you dont let them drink occasionly or anything else, when they finally get round to being able to but drink for themselves, they're going to go ape and possibly kill themselves in the process.|||Your personal opinion, however, contradicts the actual definition. Yes, a teen is a kid. Kid is simply a euphemism for a child, and child is the word we use to describe anyone under the age of majority. A 13 year old is a minor, and is therefore a child, and therefor, a kid.

While I realize that at 13, someone does not FEEL like a kid, they are technically still classified under that definition, like it or not.

However, your second mistake is in thinking there are only 2 blanket ways to treat someone ... as a child, or as an adult, and that's not true. How people react to someone has more to do with their level of maturity than their actual age. I have a 15 year old that's years ahead of her age group, and I interact with her on an adult level, and have for years. On the other hand, my younger daughter will be 13 this week. She is flighty, incredibly immature and irresponsible. I treat her like a kid.|||You're absolutely right... But, I can't really say anything bad about teenagers, because I'm a 17-year old myself... But, what you say about younger teenagers doing this things.... They get tired of that stuff and think it's time for a change, but they do it not in the correct direction.|||Says the 13-year-old who doesn't get their way all the time. As long as you act without thinking of others like you do you're a child. Now shut up and do what you're told or I'll come over there and spank you back to last week.|||I think they're just considered teens, and too often teens try to act like adults. Just because child-like things may not be that appealing, there are better things to do other than sex and drugs. I also agree with Jade ^^^|||Yes close enough. I'd say kids not children. They're certainly not toddlers, nor are they adults.
Kids is short for juvenile delinquents.|||Well..The way most teens act they are still children..|||13 year olds shouldn't be having sex anyways...I'm 18 I still consider myself a kid!|||I am sixteen, but I still consider myself a child and until I can provide for myself entirely I am a child. That's the way I see it.|||I consider anyone under 24 to be a kid.

There's lots of stages of childhood, I'm discovering new ones all the time.|||I call 13-15 year olds childteens.
And 16-19 year olds adultteens.|||Doing drugs, drinking, and having sex doesn't make you a grown up.|||they're all foolish young'uns to me|||If i caught my 13 year old drinking and doing drugs I'd spank them like a six year old.|||...I'm 13 and consider myself a kid..|||it depends on your culture.

In some cultures, anything under 20 or 21 is a kid.
In some cultures, anything under 18 is a kid.
In some cultures 14 is adult and marriage age.

If i was an ethiopian man born and raised in their boondock sticks.. I'd probably think a 15 year old wife was pretty hot and awesome.

But. i'm american. we chose a different arbitrary age of adulthood. I abide by that.
I dont play along with our white cultures "white males are creeps and older white women are cougars" bullcrap. I will never abide by that nonsense.....but I do abide by the law and 18.

There are enough 18 year olds who appear 16 that you dont have to risk jail with some 16 year old who appears 19.

But i am the biggest critic of japan's 20.
I was dating my fiancee (japanese) since she was 18 and she as more than mature enough and adult enough for sex, love and companionship. Us americans gave her adulthood at a sensible age.
    18.

In fact.. I will go so far as to claim that an 18 year old japanese girl is equal to a 28 year old white girl in conduct and morality and decency and maturity and even has a lower crime rate to boot. I've seen 28 year old women on jerry springer that were 100000x more immature and stupid than my girl was at 18.

Do I think 13 is a child? culturally yes. Scientifically no. In every other species of animal.. adulthood is defined by the ability to reproduce.
But us humans dont think we are animals so we define ourselves differently from the way we define the animal kingdom.

I believe 14 year olds can give birth.. because father nature intended them to.
But... we overruled him with the advent of high school.

    so culturally yes.. scientifically no.
Teens are probably the ones who gave birth to the human race.

too many people for someones home. lots of kids will be attending. we're looking for something similar to a chucky cheese, but not chucky cheese. i live in the metro detroit (michigan) area. any help please?|||Visit the Zoo

Zoos are wonderful kids' birthday party places. Most zoos offer party packages but you can plan one on your own easily. Create a scavenger hunt for the children to go on at the zoo. Give them directions like 鈥榝ind an animal that eats meat鈥?or 鈥榝ind a nocturnal animal鈥? The party members can work on the scavenger hunt together or they can break into two teams and race to find all the answers. Just make sure the children are always accompanied by an adult. Most zoos allow guests to bring their own food, so plan on bringing a cake or cupcakes and juice boxes for a picnic celebration.

    Summary

There are many options for hosting a kid's birthday party outside of the home. Make sure to include the exact address of the kids birthday party place with the phone number on the party invitation. Make it clear if parents are invited to stay at the party or if they will be expected to drop their child off and leave. If parents are needed to stay with their child, their entrance fees should be covered by the party host. Make up games to play (hide&seek, puppets, clowning around, etc.) and though you would have a 'winner' from a game - at that age EVERYONE is a winner - so you give out little gifts (balloons, plastic toys, etc.) Yes, they'll only play with them a little while, but you got them for 12 for a $1.00..so who cares!!! I know from my grandsons party that they still enjoy these things. make a cake and enjoy|||on my kids birthday they get to pick where they want to eat there dinner usally chuckie cheeses and they each get 20 tokens when that is out we leave....and for there present they get 20 dollars to spend at walmart that is it and they love it because they get to choose what they want ....we also will have a cake with the rest of the family i keep it simple and it is always a great time for them.....|||Buy the kid a fishing outfit and take him fishing. When a kid catches his (or her's) first fish, they go absolutely mental. Then they want to go all the time. Plus you can eat 'em, if they're caught from clean water. Pretty much anyplace in the US has a number of fishing lakes and streams within a 30 minute drive. And it beats the heck out of video games. Also, buy him a pair of binoculars.|||It's not really inexpensive but it's not overly expensive either, a bowling birthday party. My nephew and his friends had a BLAST. As far as presents go, I would just go with one or two small things like an action figure or something. Like you said, they don't play with their presents for more than a day or two and two months later he probably wouldn't even be able to tell you what he got.|||have you tried a roller skating party. my granddaughter just went to one for a 7 yr old boy in her class and everyone seems to be having a good time. if the parents want to skate or bring siblings they bear the additional costs, you don't have to worry about skill level, everyone can participate,

you didn't give the child's birthday so I'm guessing in the near future or what area you live in so i don't know if you can do an outside party at your local park. if you can, the play equipment is already there for all ages, you can stay as long as the park is opened unless you're having a really large party where you need to reserve an area where they may limit your time in the picnic area.

it seems nothing is inexpensive for children these days even when your not" trying to keep up with the Joneses".|||When I was 7 I got this cool Microscope and people took the time to teach me how it worked and how to prepare my slides. Heck, by the time I was 12 I was playing Doctor with the girls. Darn, I been playing doctor ever since. Now I even have a pocket microscope with a case (Radio Shack). I carry it into the woods hiking with a few plastic slides.|||Before his birthday, have him select about ten toys to give to charity. Let him know that other children aren't so blessed and if he's not going to play with his toys, he needs to give them away.

Then get him something educational, like a Leapster, or a computer game. Even word finds and mazes that come in book form can be a great gift for a 7 y/o boy.

Or...you could get him a pile of dirt and some dump trucks!!!|||Boy do I know the feeling... I have four kids and we have done it all too. I know that Chucky Cheese can hurt the wallet. Not sure what climate you live in but, if it is warm enough you could through a pirate party and "bury a treasure" and give the kids a map to find it. You can purchase great skeletons and stuff like that at the Dollar Stores now because of it being Halloween time. I know that you can even make a great cake that looks like a treasure box or a pirate ship. I have learned to be very creative over the years. For my younger boys we have even got the bounce rides at a local rent place and the cotton candy machine like a carnival type party and everyone enjoys it. I really think party's at home turn out best because you don't spend high dollars at restaurants. Not only that I think my kids are appreciative that I spend time making things like the cake etc...|||For my son's 8th birthday we had a 'Spaceship' party. Made a cake like a rocketship, had 'pin the cone on the rocket' (like pin the tail on the donkey), 'Moon crater throw' (cut holes in a cardboard box, made it look rocky with home-made flour-dough and painted it grey, they had them throw balled up (new) grey sock to try to hit a specific hole, different holes were different prizes) The prizes were things like little pen-lights from the $1 store and matchbox type cars (also from $1 store, 8 to a package!), Candy (of course). Then Astropops (popsicles)
The big project was we bought the little Estes model rocket sets ($1-3 each depending on if you get multipacks) and some finger paints and let the kids paint their own then went across the street to the park and shot them up. (Let them know that sometimes you can't recover them so they can decide to keep theirs if they want to) Lunch was pizza and we got dry ice for 'Martian punch' Get a big punch bowl and invert a strainer over the dry-ice so that no-one touches it or accidently drinks any. Then we poured Sprite over a few scoops of rainbow sherbet (Not too many, just enough to make it foamy) and poured that into the puch bowl. At the end when we were waiting for parents to return we put on Star Wars movie and waited for the clean-up to begin.
I think we spend a total of $80 dollars on 9 kids. (Food, prizes, game supplies, party hats, goodie bags, everything) Just remember, at this age you CAN get away with doing things on a budget. Once he hits 12....there will be no appealing to him.
Good luck!|||Throw an old fashion b-day party. 2 - 3 hours, kids only, and play organized games... pin the tale on the donkey, pinata, tag, hide and seek etc. A bounce house is not too expensive and normally will keep all the kids busy for the 2 - 3 hours. As for gifts, dont get him anything because the other kids will arrive with gifts and he might not even notice that your name was not on one of the cards. At seven playing is more fun, Oh, another is to have a puppet stage and let the kids make sock puppets and make their own show to put on for the parents as they arrive to pick the kids up.|||My twins are 7 and we had a birthday party at home and i had a game hooked up to every TV and the kids that wasn't playing the games played computer games of learning and they enjoyed it.|||That's what kids do. Learn to deal. Maybe a little discipline now and again.
You should get him a book on parenting. Read it. It will be the best gift you ever gave him.

  • I have asked this question is Psychology and parenting And because I just love this section I thought I would give you a try. MY 27 month old daughter has a unbelievable fear of clowns. And I don't mean she starts to cry and run to me I mean she becomes paralyzed with fear and begins to shake and cry uncontrollable. She does not have a fear of chucky cheese charactors or people dressed at halloween, it is truley just clowns. WE have never been to the circus and she is not in day care so to my knowledge she has not had a bad experence with one. We have had 5 episodes where she has seen a clown on TV and freaked out. The last was on Friday and it was the worst. It took her hours to settle her down. What would cause such a fear at such a young age? she fears nothing else.|||Well, we all have our phobias that could paralyze us deep down. I can offer you this suggestion, "the only way to conquer your phobia is to actually face your phobia." Hire a professional clown to come to the house during your daughter's birthday party. Warn the clown first about her fear for they do realize that many kids are afraid of them. Think of it this way--most adults are 2-3 times as tall as children. If you saw a person fifteen feet tall in bright clothes and a painted face at your front door yelling, "Surprise!", how would you feel?
I used to work in a circus for a while and I have seen many kids with similar problems as your daughter. I have seen a five-year-old boy just freeze with fear when Bobo the Clown approached him. He could not walk and few seconds latter just started to cry hysterically. What Bobo did he pretended to freeze up, then he too started to cry and call his mommy that the little kid was scaring him. He then got an idea to place a jumping rope between him and the boy. He then told him something along the lines, "I won't cross the rope..and they have to stay back behind the rope as well....cause I am afraid of you too!" The kid was still afraid and crying to such a point that he was hyperventilating. So Bobo then said if you feel afraid all you have to do is this. . . bbbbblllllllppppppptttttttt" (raspberry). so the kid barely before it seems that he was about to fain did the raspberry and Bobo the clown took few steps back and told the kid that he was scaring him. So, the boy did several raspberries more and the clown more steps back. The kid stopped crying and then played with the clown for couple of minutes by blowing him raspberries.
Oh yes the clown also showed a boy a picture of him without the costume on where he was standing next to his wife and kids.
Try it with your daughter. If it doesn't work at least you know you have tried to help end your daughter's fear.

It was like Chucky Cheeses where family could go and play all kinds of arcade games and eat pizza. • My son is turning one in November!!! He is my first child and since its the winter, i cant think of any ideas! It has to be very low budget, especially with xmas so close! and i dont have a big enough place to have a party at home. is chucky cheese not good for 1yr olds? its too cold for the zoo or for the park... also any good ideas for toys/gifts for this young?|||Invite a few friends with children to your house. Serve cheese and crackers and birthday cake. take lots of pics. Your so will have more fun with the boxes and paper than what's actually in them.

    Good gifts:
    books
simple puzzles with large, chunky pieces for little hands to grasp
    riding or push toys
    large leggo or blocks
    bath toys
nesting or stacking toys|||1st bday parties are always more for the parents than the child. Ur son will not even know what is goign on. Keep is small and have it at your house or ask a relative w a bigger home to host it if u have a big family. I wouldnt invite a ton of non relative children. I would just get a cake and maybe a small cake or a cupcake for your son to tear into and pizza or whatever - save the blowouts for when your son can enjoy it.|||do you have any friends with a place big enough to host a party? I don't think you should go to chuck e cheeses or anything.... there will be alot of noise and kids running around, you probably want something a little bit more personal since it's your first childs first birthday.... my son will be 1 in sept... he is also my first, I'm having a big party at my moms house.|||From my understanding/experience, the 1st b-day is mostly for the parents. Yourf kid will be too young to really know what is going on, but don't let him be bored. you should just invite a bunch/few good friends over for some cake and balloons.

You don't have to spend alot to impress your baby!|||ALL first time parents totally think their child's 'first' birthday just has to be something extra special.............NOT!
To a 1-yr. old.....a birthday is just another day to them - they do not know one day from the next. Do yourself a huge favor, have a pot luck, bake a cake and invite family over. Save the 'big special' birthday parties for after he begins school....|||My daughters birthday is just a week before Christmas. Do you have a friend or relatives house you could borrow for the occasion? That's what we ended up doing. We just invited some family and a few friends and the kids ranged in age from 1-10 so we just did some basic party games and had cake and ice cream and then put on a movie for the kiddies. It was super low key and low budget and we had a good time and it was nice having people around who we love and care about celebrating a birthday. In the end that's all that matters. And remember 1 year olds are not going to care a whole lot, and you will most likely end up with crankiness or kids who end up taking a nap randomly or anything lol, so Chucky Cheese would probably not be a good pick!
There are some indoor play places near where I live, maybe you could check one of those out? Picture the McDonald's play place but classier, funner, safer, and yeah without the fast food lols. And it was pretty decent priced for the little ones to play. The ones I live by have an area for baby/toddler and also an area for bigger kids.

All of these Mom's are having bowling party's and Chucky Cheese Party's and so on well I'm having a nice little party at home . I was thinking Bowling but I've noticed that most of the kids lose interest in it fast and just want to play together so I thought What would be good games for kids to play together for a bday party . Thanks in advance !|||You should get a big clear bowl, maybe even two. One filled with balls, cars, crayons, legos, play-doh, army men, pop guns, and other small toys. Then have the other filled with candy, and the good candy, too. Not just little yucky candies, fun-size Snickers, M&M's, Twix, Twizzlers, etc. These will be the prize bowls. After each game, let the kid(s) who won choose something out of a bowl. If the game was kinda hard, maybe let them pick two or three.

    Balloon Target Game

Create a target on the floor and have kids blow up those long skinny balloons. Place the target in center of room; divide up the balloons by color, the number of colors will determine the number of participant per round. (4 colors 鈥?4 players per round). Now release the balloons and watch them fly. And sometimes they hit the target too! Give the kids who hit the target three candies of their choice out of the prize bowl, or one toy.

    Cat Tails

Get long strips of cloth any extra you have a round make them at least one yard long and have the kids put them in the back of there pants (or create little Velcro attachments), with it just hitting the ground.

Then have the kids run after each other trying to step on there tail. When they lose there tail they are out of the game the winner is the last one with a tail. A couple rounds of this game should tire them out real fast. Have the winners pick something out of the prize bowl.

    Musical Chairs!!

This is a classic, I don't think I need to explain much. If you're worried about the kids getting rough or falling, replace the chairs with pillows that they have to sit on. Once again, let the kids pick out of the prize bowls.

    Bean Bag Toss

A simple game that can be played by all. Get 6 beanbags and 3 cardboard or shoe boxes. This will be where the bean bags are tossed.

To play set the boxes 3, 4, and 5 feet away from a through line and place a value for each box. So 3 feet may equal 1 point, 4 = 2 points and 5 = 3 points. If the kids are older move the boxes back.

Each child is then given the beanbags and tosses them for the boxes. Once complete score the tosses. The person with the most points wins. Give the top kids a pick from the prize bowl.

    Duck, duck, goose!

This one is easy. I don't feel like explaining, so I'll assume you know how to play. Have the kids who get caught sit in the middle. The winner gets a prize bowl choice.

HOPE I HELPED AND I WISH YOUR KID A GREAT BIRTHDAY!|||We had my son's 5th bday party yesterday at home. I only scheduled a couple of things to play because I knew they would get bored easily and want to play with his new gifts anyway.

I had pin the tail on the donkey, candy necklace making, treat bag coloring - and that's it. The rest of the time they ran around my house and the yard screaming and shooting each other with nerf guns. LOL

The theme was Willy Wonka so it was very simple to do and was pretty stress free for me. We had lots of candy and at the end of the party the kids go to pick from the "candy shoppe" and fill their treat bags. It was fun and simple.|||if you have tape you want play four square.

I can't comment on NFS:Carbon but in NFS you have to upgrade cars a lot will probably be too confusing for a 6 year old. I would stay away from Forza or Gran Trismo games they're too hard for a 6 year old. If he wants game more on the realistic side that's not too hard get him project gotham racing or maybe burnout. But i would go with Project Gotham 4|||i would get him grid that is clean and need for speed carbon isn't that bad its just street racing and a few pictures of girls in tank tops. but i would get grid for him that is really clean but still very fun. i would also reccomend burnout paradise. this is another clean racing game. it is really fun because of its intense crashes which im sure he will like. hope i have helped|||I think its fine, He will be more concentrated on racing then the content.

My sister and I remember hearing the song "Aquarius" when we were really little on a kids show or at Chucky Cheese or something like that. Anyone know what I'm talking about?|||It was made popular by a band call "The 5th Dimension." I believe it stems from the broadway musical, "Hair."|||aquarius was from the movie hair.|||If it's Age of Aquarious, then it could have been the movie/musical "Hair" from the 70s. I don't know if there is a place online yet that exists to reference-check song's use in a certain TV show, but if you are seriously concerned (read: obessed) with finding out, you can (1) look up the writers of the song, then (2) find the publisher via internet (The big publishers are EMI, Warner Brothers, Sony-ATV, Universal, etc.) they each have search engines on their websites and then (3) contact them to get a history of a song's licensed use. Good luck finding anyone in that industry to call you back with that type of inquiry, though.
